Le'Veon Bell's Comments

Did anyone see Bell's comments to a Jets fan about coming to play for the Jets? Harsh. The perception around the league about this team and organization needs to change. I hope the Jets players remember that when we play Pittsburgh..

hire a legit president of football operations.. let him find his own GM.. then let the GM find his HC.. then let the HC find his staff.. most importantly, the GM & the HC would report to the the president of football operations, not the johnson brothers..

then we can start #continuity you've been in favor of..

I get the structure at the Jets is unusual but not unprecented. I understand your point, but I don't believe that the current structure is dysfunctional. Bowles, Mac and Chris Johnson seem to be working well together, and appear to be on the same page. They have a plan. The Jets are rebuilding - that's the bottom line. I would add that the Jets did get to two AFC Championship games with this structure, so it can work with the right team in place. The current Jets just need more talent. In my opinion, they're on that path. We can have a separate discussion about how far away they are.

He sees the team of Mac and Blowes and doesn't want any part of this team. The poor player selection, bad contracts and piss poor incompetent coaching is a direct reflection of NYJ front office. That's just a player verifying what many of us have already known. You see something like this and yet there's still so many yahoos that think Blowes is the bomb. The guy is incompetent and even players from other teams know it.........

My understanding is that Johnson has always had the power to hire and fire the head coach and the GM separately. I could be wrong, but that is my understanding.

Parcells thinks highly of Bowles - that's good enough for me. He deserves an opportunity to see this rebuild through. If it doesn't work, we move on. I never understand why people so get bent out of shape about this. If this team doesn't continue to improve, changes will be made. It's pretty simple.

I would add that Bell has an opinion, that's all. It's not fact. He no idea what is going on in the Jets locker room. And by the way, neither do we. The only thing I do know is that this team competed last year, despite the fact that no one expected them to win more a 1 or 2 games. If he doesn't want to come here, fine. This team can win without him, he's not Joe Montana. He's a Pro Bowl RB - they're not that hard to find.

i agree with the latter but with respect, you have absolutely no idea how much or little bell knows about the jet locker room/coaching/ownership..

I just read the Shanahan thread, I'm unsure of the implication there. The comment is rather passive aggressive. Is he implying that Bowles isn't bright? As I said, if Parcells thinks highly of him, that's good enough for me. Arians does as well, and he is an excellent coach in his own right. Bowles was on the staff of both Parcells and Arians, so they are in the best position to know about his acumen.

Who cares, he just wants as much money as possible and there's no way would I pay him anywhere near that. Fix the OL, and the running game will
be fine with BP, EM, and whoever else we may land.

Right on Wicker Man. He's trying to inflate his value. Behind a lesser "O" line he might not be as good as he seems.

Take Bells comment in context. He said $60 million is not enough to come run with the Jets.
he told Pitt that he would not accept $15 mill per year for 5 years. $75 mill is not enough.
He wants starting QB money. I'm sure it's posturing to get the biggest deal he can but age, injury history, drug suspensions should all be a factor in the decision of any team who signs him.
As for the teams current structure, I believe Pittsburgh is one of several teams with the exact same orginazational structure.
I agree completely that it seems to be working with Chris Johnson standing in for Woody. He appears to be onboard with the rebuild and so far seems to be hands off in personal decisions, unlike Woody. Especially in 2015.

No way do I pay for Bell at his asking price. We don't have the OL for him to succeed. You can draft a younger, faster, non injured and clean RB for less than he wants for one year and get them for 5.
