the Redskins always had one thing going even with Kirk Cousins under center and that was a Run Game, mainly because of Spencer Long... He may not be Ryan Jensen but he is an upgrade 10 fold over Wesley Johnson... Now that we have Crowell in the backfield we got a heady center that will be able to make the appropriate line calls and lead this line with a nastiness that we didn't have with Wesley...
I was very high on Jensen. That said, Long is a solid center, and it's a definite upgrade.

Jensen was the big name, but this guy looks good enough. Certainly better than what we got from Wesley Johnson last year. I read that the line suffered last year from Johnson’s rawness. No coincidence that Winters and Carpenter, normally reliable Guards, had down years.

Both the run surge he can provide and the line calls are Long's strongest assets for the entirety of the line.

Gotta think Mac is going to use a second or third round pick on a G/C as backup for Long and to eventually replace Carpenter next year.
IMO they overpaid for Long. I hope your right about the run surge.

Most of them have multiple teams vying for their services. And in most cases, they follow the money. Just watch how much Jensen gets. He’ll become easily the highest paid Center in the league.

Right. It's the price you pay for experience and proven talent. His presence has greatly improved our "O" line. He's a good run blocker. His only downside was his injury. Like mentioned above, not a Jensen, but, not far from it.
Interesting that Ryan Jensen has not been signed yet.
He left Tampa today without signing a deal and is headed to the colts facility now for a visit. Sources say he is asking 10 Mil plus.
Expect some depth signings but probably not anything splashy.
