The saving grace is that defenses won't be able to read his eyes like they did with previous QBs. They won't be able to see them behind his offensive line. He'll need to throw a lot of timing passes because defenses in the NFL move a whole faster than he is used to. He won't have time to look for receivers oftentimes. He's a versatile and smart kid so I believe in time the height thing will not be a problem. He is without question very talented. I do still have some concerns about his personality though.

I like his game. Like him as a competitor.
Will he be able to find passing lanes in the NFL is the question. Also he won't be throwing to wide open recievers like he was in college.
I had concerns about his personality, but think it's more of a maturity thing. Hopefully he outgrows it because it won't fly in the NFL.

My only fear here is that we traded away those picks and they take the QB that would have still been available at 6 anyway.
my only fear was staying at 6 & all of the big 4 being gone..

that & taking a guard at 6.. after taking a safety just the year before at 6.....

I voted Allen. I think he has the highest ceiling and besides Rosen is the most pro ready. Floor is probably Blake Bortles like. My biggest concern is the shoulder. Will he hold up physcialy.
That being said, I think Rosen could fall to 3.
Browns could go Barkley at 1 , Giants could go with a position other than QB or trade out.
I'd rank the QBs Rosen , Allen , Mayfield, Darnold. Rosen has health concerns as does Allen. Mayfield , maturity issues. Darnold is the cleanest off the field .
I know Darnold was the darling of the draft but he regressed this season and needs alot of work. Is unwilling to fix his throwing motion against the advice of his QB coaches. He really needs alot of work.

The more I think about this the more I think the Jets will get the second quarterback on the board, whomever that might be. The reason I say this is because of the Giants, I don’t think are going to take a chance on losing Barkley. Maybe that would have been the case anyway. Any team that wants to trade up in their spot to get a QB is going to be pretty far back like the Bills, Denver or Arizona. The Giants will not get Barkley if they switch to their spots. Knowing that the Browns will pick him up at number four if they don’t get him at number two. So I believe the Giants will take Barkley and we will have a choice of the other three QBs. Whomever the Browns take first. If this is the case then this was definitely a great trade for the Jets and this might have been their thinking the entire time. I know I’m probably giving to Jets too much credit here but they probably already have a very good idea as well on which QB the Browns will draft. My overall thought process here is they might be thinking that this trade now forces the Browns to now draft a QB at one, if they didn't already know that the Browns were going to do that regardless of this trade. If this is the case then that puts the Giants in a position to have to draft Barkley to not lose him at number four. If this their thought process and it all works out then its genius. They just then have to draft the right one and still develop him to be a HOFer and SB winner. Easier said then done.

I agree, i think in the process of trying to trade up they tried to trade up with the Giants, not that the Giants gave up their plans but maybe they didn't want to drop past Clevelands second pick. Knowing they'll take Barkely. I think it'll take massive compensation to get the Giats off that pick and that pick will be Barkely. I think Gettleman is going to ride Eli for another few years and build the best team he can around him.
The one thing about people saying the Jets overpaid to move up 3 spots is that they set the market. Now, any teamtrying to trade up in front of them will have to extremely overpay(Bills) and that works to the Jets advantage again.
The Colts talking about pleasure doing business with you, if tongue and cheek, i hope Luck doesn't truly recover and their team absolutely sucks while the Jets hopefully do draft their franchise QB for the next decade.

One thing I disagree with regarding the Bills trading up into #2. How does that benefit the Jets? From my perspective it’s either going to be a wash or actually be a bad thing for the Jets. If the Giants are drafting a QB at 2, it doesn’t matter. We’re getting the 3rd QB.

If the Bills move up into #2, then we’re also getting the 3rd QB, right? So from my perspective it’s better that the Giants keep the pick and hopefully take Barkley. Then we get a better shot at a QB we really want. Mac has these QB’s ranked 1-3.

I don't know how anyone can vote for anything other than a QB here. QB is the most important position out there. You keep trying until you hit on it

Well I wouldn't mind Barkley in this scenario, but I either way I want a QB and I want him to play as soon as possible. I want to be excited about the Jets and I haven't been in years and this off season hasn't changed anything.

Thats because you can't get over your disdain for Mayfield and fear that the Jets might select him at #3

I could be wrong, but IMO thats why you can't get any enjoyment out of this, because the idea pf Mayfield at #3 is making you miserable.

My fear which has been proven 100% of the time which is they will choose the wrong QB. That might be Allen, Rosen or Mayfield. I was pretty excited when we had two extra picks because we would have got the best player at their position at #6 whether that was Nelson or Chubb. Plus two other high picks to make this roster better. Now we will get a QB that has major concerns at #3. It may work out, but Jets odds say it won't.

Everybody in Jetland seems to have Quarterback Fever and yet the consensus is also that whoever is drafted should sit behind Josh McCown. Wentz, Goff, Watson, Kizer etc. all started in their first seasons, why are the Jets different? Sure Steve Young and Aaron Rodgers sat, but they were behind Montana and Favre. Or is it that these guys who we have given up all the picks for are not as good as Wentz or Goff.

If the QB that the Jets take at 3 comes in and shows he’s ready for the starting spot, he’ll probably get it. By the time mini camps and training camp is over, they’ll know where these guys are at.

Same thing for Teddy B. He’ll get opportunities. Just because he said McCown’s the starter for now doesn’t mean he’s going to keep it when week one comes. As I said in another thread, you’ve got to earn it. Right now, there’s only one QB on our roster who’s earned anything.

No sitting. Learn on the fly. Won't learn from watching a garbage QB.

My dream is that the Browns fall in love with Allen. Barkley or Chubb goes to Giants and the Jets take Darnold. I might cry for the first time as a Jets fan, but not the normal disappointment cry.
