Supposedly, quite a few Dolphins players were grumbling about Suh in the locker room. Described him as a polarizing personality.
No thanks.
No thanks.
isnt there a three year average floor you have to meet? I doubt we have an issue, but I thought that was in CBA
So more dysfunction surfaces at one Jets drive. Regardless of your feelings on Suh, this shows that ownership and the FO are not on the same page. Woody forced Mac's hand in FA signings and it appears Chris Johnson is doing the same. You have to wonder where the line is. How much say does Chris Johnson have over the draft,
The smart move would have been for chrCh to simply say, we have decided to go in a different direction. Instead he gave us a glimpse into the inner workings of the Franchise and why we have failed to find success.
Why wouldn't they be going after Hankins? He is 25.
not to mention the HC doesn't answer to the GM.. & yes, I've heard this chain of command is not unprecedented in the league.. but that has absolutely no bearing on how it is, or isn't working for this franchise..So more dysfunction surfaces at one Jets drive. Green Jets & Ham;n159298 said:If he was just using the Jets offer to shop for a better offer, and apparently he was, then good for Chris Johnson for pulling the offer.
And I say that as someone who was 100% on board with signing Kong Suh.
I'm not sure that withdrawing any offer demonstrates dysfunction
Maybe they decided that he wasnt really interested in the Jets and was just using us
Maybe in the course of discussions he showed some further level of immaturity that tipped their balance against him
Maybe they subscribe to this forum and were convinced by those who argued against it
Maybe their discussions with other free agents moved in a direction where they dont want to commit big $$ to Suh
Why would any of those be bad?
This isn’t the first time an owner has gotten involved. And I completely understand why Chris Johnson would step in here. This isn’t a move that lines up with the direction this team has chosen in the last few years. A 31 year old aging vet who’s best years are behind him, and an unpredictable behavioral history.
I have no problem with an owner saying “STOP” when a decision like this is being contemplated.
Stepping in isn't the issue. You were anti Suh so you applaude the move, but refuse to address the actual post your quoting.
It's not about one player but Chris Johnson's statements and how the FO is run.
Seems like you’re making a mountain out of a molehill with this. Dysfunctional? That seems like a stretch to me. The SOJ reaction to a nothing burger.
They withdrew the offer after further deliberation. I don’t care. It doesn’t bother me one iota.
