Obvious question, is Bilal Powell on the trade block?

with the recent additions of Isaiah Crowell and now Thomas Rawls to the backfield have to expect Elijah Mcguire is safe but does this mean the end of BP in green & white?

Powell in October will turn the dreaded 30 usually the death march in the NFL for most running backs... Bilal also entering contract year making him a good trade chip... Losing both of our 2nd round picks this year to move up three spots to likely draft a quarterback could be a move to some how make a play for another mid round draft pick or combine our current 3rd with BP to grab someone's 2nd... of course any 2nd round would be likely back half of the round...

besides the new additions we also have other prospects in Jahad Thomas, Akeem Judd and Jeremy Langford...

Powell has bee a pretty good back here. But with Crowell, McGuire, and Rawls, you have three guys who are, what, five years younger? Those three could absolutely share the load.

It’s a cruel business. Powell has been pretty good. And supposedly a great locker room guy. But his age and salary might be the determining factors. It’s getting too crowded at RB.

Given that it seemed Bowles never seemed to use him to the fullest advantage, it looks like he may be.

They should trade him and see what they can get. They need picks.

I can see the possibility of a trade but I wouldn't think they are necessarily considering it because so far none of the others are as good as him, especially Rawls. He's in the right age bracket but if he doesn't play any better in camp than he has the last two years he won't even make the roster. He had a really good rookie season but, partially due to injury, hasn't amounted to much since then.

I could definitely see Powell traded. Crowell as lead back with McGuire, and Rawls in rotation and short distance situations.

Mac would be Houdini if he got more than a 7th round pick for a soon-to-be 30 year old RB. Would you give up Powell for a 7th round pick? Ain't happening.

two things I hate about football. #1 obviously is the other team in our division. The other is "It's a Cruel Business" your a good locker room guy, your name doesn't show up in the tabloids, your numbers are still productive but you will soon be old so see ya later. If you are a good locker room guy, especially on the Jets where we really need that, just for that reason alone you should be kept around. I mean , if we trade him to a contender then I guess that's to his advantage, but it usually doesn't work that way. I would be a horrible GM cause if someone did something good for my team I would want to reward them not send them away

plus, watching the SNY post game won't be the same without Ray Lucas saying Bilalllll Powellll

He has been injured, but Seattle also has the worst OL in the NFL.

Hopefully he can pull it together and get healthy and back to full strength. He's a different kind of runner than Powell and Mcguire and would be a good compliment to them something like Crowell will be. He was pretty banged up and ineffective last season. Rumor has it Jets are also looking at one of the Giants backs Oleans Darkwa.

I hope we keep him...he'll be a young 30, not a lot carries like a featured back, Plus, Crowell is an asshole.

keep him - would rather have him on 3rd down than some throwaway 7th rd lottery ticket.
