CBS report says Bills GM Brandon Beane is doing everything he can to get a QB in the top 5. We already speculated that this was going to happen.

That will be tough for them. The likelihood is the Broncos have targeted a QB at #5, assuming the Browns go Barkley with one of their two top-four picks. So the Broncos are not going to be inclined to trade with another team seeking a QB.
This means the Bills would have to deal for the Browns' second pick, or the Giants pick. The Browns aren't likely to go back out of the top 5, because they'd lose a chance to get the best position player in the draft. That means the Giants. They've already tried to land the Giants pick, and word is Gettleman wants a fortune.

In order for them to move into the top 5 they would have to first trade with the Colts to get #6. I think the Giants are much more likely to trade out if they can still get a top 6 pick. That way, they are still assured of getting Barkley or Chubb and additional picks.
Giants might go Nelson, completely revamp their OL. Either way, 6 is where they'd have to go.
I think it has to be the Giants, too. The Browns are probably going to have some combination of Barkley, Chubb, Nelson, and Fitzpatrick waiting for them at #4. The best non-QB’s in the draft. I can see Gettleman waiting them out until draft night. The Bills will get desperate and unload an obscene amount of draft picks to get ahead of the Jets for one of the QB’s.
Gettleman probably started a conga line when the Jets moved up to #3, because he’s got a lot of control over this draft right now. He can ransack and pillage Buffalo if the Bills really want a QB.
Lets hope he pillages Buffalo for there 2 1st's, 2 2nds, and a 1st and 2nd next year.
The bills will have to make a couple of trades if they hope to get to 2. I can see them move up win a trade with the Colts, Tampa the Bears giving up a second and third to do so. Then giving both 1s a second third, plus a first or second next year to the Giants. Giants would still pick top 8, it's likely Allen is still there and they would still have a shot to draft a QB at 23, (Rudolph) or a RB plus have 2 more 2nd and third rounders to address needs.
Matt Miller has been hearing from numerous scouts and executives around the league that the Giants will take Sam Darnold at #2 if the Browns take Josh Allen. Don’t know how credible this really is.
Look on the bright side, by trading up to 3, the Jets put the Bills in a position where they essentially have to make a Hershel Walker/Ricky Williams deal to leap the Jets at 1 or 2, which is to say, now if they are determined to leap the Jets, they will basically have to cripple their ability to build a winning team around him. Thats part of the genius of the Jets acting aggressively and quickly. Those two 2's (and next years 2) are gonna seem like the mother of all steals by comparison.

With that said, Macc is going to be on the hot seat, too. He made a bold move going up with the trade to #3. I understand the criticism of the Hackenberg reach, but the Petty pick was a 4th rounder. That’s apples and oranges. Ammunition for the Macc critics to put more pressure on him. But ultimately, Macc has to get this pick right. This player has to be a FQB. Or he’s probably going to be fired, too.
I hope the Giants hold the pick and take Darnold. I have heard the Bills like Allen, but if he is gone they like Rosen as plan B. I want Rosen....... But in the end I think its Darnold at 1, Barkley to the G Men at 2, and Rosen to us at 3

That's why Macc's jump to 3, at the time it was done was so good, and expensive. If they didn't they could have been locked out of the QB's at 6. At this point I don't think they care what the Bills do. IMO they moved up to 3 with Mayfield, or Rosen as the target. One, or both will be there
staying at 6 wasn't a real option if getting one of the big 4 was the only option..
i'm a mayfield guy.. rosen's concussions scare the shit out me..
I also agree that's how i will end up unless Allen impresses the hell out of the Jets today at his private workout. I don't see Buffalo giving all those picks to get to number two unless Darnold is available and I think if he's still on the board the Giants will draft him. I could see Denver however trading up with the Giants to get Rosen or Allen. I'll be happy with Rosen and hope he gets to start by mid season....
