Report: Felony charge against Robby Anderson dropped

Jets receiver Robby Anderson faces a long list of charges arising from a January arrest. The most serious of the charges has now gone away.

According to Andy Slater of WINZ, the felony charge of threatening a public servant or a public servant’s family has been dropped.

Anderson had been accused of telling the arresting officer that Anderson would find the officer’s wife “f–k her and n-t in her eye.”

The trial had been set to commence during the team’s training camp. It’s unclear whether the dismissal of the felony charge will change that.

Anderson still faces multiple misdemeanor charges arising from the January incident.

Right and that's good news. He is being charged with reckless driving. Hopefully, he has learned something from this and understands the seriousness of his off field antics is detrimental to his career, and stops the stupid behavior. With him, Pryor, and Quincy all active our receiving core should be pretty good, especially if our new tight end works out.

see I am not sold that he did anything wrong... some people told me the area that he is be accused of reckless driving and speeding is nearly impossible to do either of these things without flipping your vehicle... so because he is from this area he is likely being targeted by said cops... have to wonder when people will learn when you make it there will be people that are there that are jealous and want to tear it all down for you...

I understand his family (mother) and everyone else still live there but maybe he needs to invest on getting them the hell out of there so these things stop happening...

who knows, at the end of the day he is still part of the team and the major charge which was the worst one was dropped, hopefully the other charges are also dismissed due to lack of evidence and/or inconsistent reporting...

We can only hope. Tony is Familiar with that area and I believe he said something to the effect that is wasn't possible to do what he was accused of doing in that area. If that's the case it wouldn't take the worlds best lawyer to prove that and get those charges dropped as well. But as you point out he needs to be aware of his surroundings both location wise and people wise and cover his own ass.

I am very familiar with the area.
I took alot of flack when I defended Robby but I knew the speed was not possible. None of the arresting officer accounts were possible with the exception of Robby's statement about the wife.....
Next up is his court date for his first arrest, but that would have been dismissed already if not for the more recent arrest. Ortiz , the arresting officer in that case is scum, and the female officer who was his witness, was just suspended , again. This time for breaking a high school teens arm at ultra for according to the officer, trying to sneak in without paying. The girl not only had her ID and ticket, but she was wearing the wristband on the arm she had broken.
Robby needs to grow up , but he has not done anything as severe as he was accused of.

????? He's a 24 year old kid, nothing wrong with him visiting his family home in the off-season.
Robby needs to smarten up, if he wasn't speeding , this never happens but we were all 24 once. He had an argument with his GF and left, heated. Better than smacking her around and getting a domestic violence arrest.
I don't get Jet fans sometimes. Anderson is young and the best player on the offensive side of the ball and everyone wants to crucify him , see him cut and hope he fails in life . Then they are all over ASJ , we needed to resign him, he's great.Forget the DUIs and suspension's. Guy has Jace Amaro production but Mheta wrote a feel good story in the off season about him. Q was arrested for beating his Girlfriend, he's a fan favorite and no one wanted him cut.
Mo was arrested for reckless driving, caused an accident , rolled his car injuring his passenger. No one wanted him cut, in fact he was called a team leader, even though he wasn't showing up for meetings.
Robby is very likely going to file a lawsuit against Miami Dade for his first arrest and based on the arresting officers history and # of lawsuits all ready lost involving him, Robby will very likely win the suit. At the end of the day , all Anderson has done is get some traffic tickets. Nothing criminal, no drugs. He's far from a model citizen, he's immature and needs to grow up. Personally, I hope he does and that he has a sucessful career.

I hear from a couple of friends who are with FDLE that the dash cam showed a much different story regarding the speed, red lights and evading. All original charges were dropped and a single traffic violation for reckless driving was issued. We will never know exactly what transpired but I'm guessing Anderson was speeding but not excessively, was pulled over and made a smart ass comment that pissed off the cop who decided to arrest Anderson and he filed a bunch of false charges. I don't think he's being targeted, but he is definitely know due to his driving habits and attitude.
After this incident, I have to agree the family should probably move and Robby should slow the hell down.

No... Anderson switched to receiver in 2013 from defensive back (CB) when Matt Rhule became Head Coach, because of academic reasons RA missed the 2014 season not disciplinary reasons as some people stated... RA returned to Temple Football in 2015 and 70 catches almost 1000 yards... In 2016 was invited to the East/West Shrine Bowl where he impressed several teams but signed with us...

to note: Anderson spent the 2014 taking classes at a community college in Florida to get back to Temple assuming he had some sort of scholarship that got deactivated so initiative shown by RA to enlist to a community college to improve his GPA...

his college notion was not enough tape, no combine, no pro day, so he wasn't on anyone's radar... he did have a couple of private workouts so he was on team's radar... those said teams believed he was a project with speed... he was also listed very frail frame, which dropped his stock... there was some whispers of teams possibly grabbing him in the seventh round but other prospects that fell down the draft board kind of pushed him to rookie free agent... the the rest is history...

the good thing about this, is that the history of both cops involved are sketchy and play into the favor of RA... especially now the witness cop is suspended for injuring a high school student... regardless to say RA should walk away with no more than community service and a steep fine... in terms of what the league may do he may see a one or two game suspension because this isn't his first altercation...
