Reporting from OTA's - What I'd Like to See

Seems like every time Darnold sneezes there's a story about it. I'm happy to read about how he's doing, but there are so many other stories I would love to read about. Some examples are:

• How is Antonio Garcia doing? Is he showing anything? Might we just have a future LT/RT waiting in the wings?
• Anything about the other rookies.
  • Sheppard? Seems like he's running with the 1's. How's he doing? A 25 year old rookie doesn't have the luxury of learning his trade for a few seasons.
  • How is Fatukasi doing? Is there a chance he will be in the rotation? Will Sheppard and Fatukasi become the poor man's Adams/Maye?
  • Was Parry Nickerson really a sixth round steal as has been suggested?
  • Is Frankie Luvu this year's UDFA find?
  • How's Dimitri Flowers doing in trying to unseat Lawrence Thomas as the team's fullback?
• How is Spencer Long coming along? Is he over his most recent injury?
• Are second year corners Clark and Jones playing? Have they made progress?
• Do we have a legitimate TE on this roster?

You think the Darnold coverage is crazy now? Wait until he’s close to becoming the starter. He’s going to be dissected every way imaginable by this media market.

He’ll throw a few INT’s in a game, and the fangs will be out in full force. “Why did they pass on Rosen? Why didn’t they move up for Mayfield? Fire Maccagnan!”

Garcia has been taking backup snaps , but just that he has been able to get on the field is a positive sign. He still has some weight and strength to gain back.

Shepard's been impressive working with the 1s and 2s
Long worked in team periods this week, he wasn't expected to see any action in OTAs so he is ahead of schedule.

Legett and Hendron both looked good, Sterling looked unimpressive. Is likely going to be the odd man out.

* Lee has actually looked good in coverage. Let's hope he continues to improve once pads come on.
Have not heard much on the rest..
dont really expect to untill camp starts.

Hit a lot of what I'm anxious to hear about as well. Add Parry Nickerson to the list, as I expect him to find a way onto the field. I have a lot of hope for Flowers as well, particularly in a Bates offense.

I want to see the entire offensive line healthy and functioning as an effective unit. We may have to wait until the exhibition games begin, but I'll be happy when I see it.
The O line is the engine that enables everything else.

A lot to be encouraged about here, particularly the young guys Lee, Herndon/Legget and Sheppard. For Lee to take the next step, he has to get better in pass defense. That would also be huge for the defense.

If the Jets want to win more than 5 games again, they’re going to need a few of these 2-3 year guys to graduate to the next level. No doubt about it. Lee and Jenkins have been outspoken recently about being better in 2018. Lee in coverage and Jenkins in pass rush.

If the Jets want to win more than 5 games again, they’re going to need a few of these 2-3 year guys to graduate to the next level. No doubt about it. Lee and Jenkins have been outspoken recently about being better in 2018. Lee in coverage and Jenkins in pass rush.

There's absolutely no doubt we will see it. Every QB is going to have a bad game. Especially young first/ second year guys. It's inevitable. Hopefully those games are far and few in-between and Darnold proves to be the QB we have been waiting for all these years.

Last three days for over a month.

• We've only heard about one spectacular catch Adarius has made this spring. How does he look other than that catch?
• Hard to tell without pads but how is Mauldin looking? Is he 100% healthy?
• Is Parry Nickerson ever running with the 1's? Is he working exclusively in the slot? How is he looking?
• Is Spencer Long healthy? Is he at 90%, 100%?
• Last I read, Travis Swanson was third on the depth chart. Is he getting a chance to move up? If Harrison plays, I think he won't be any better than Wesley Johnson.
• Anything about Frankie Luvu.
• Are Clark and Jones out there? Are they showing anything?
