The O line has serious issues. Starting leftTackle out, Winters likely for the entire preseason. New offense and new blocking scheme. Now we lose a backup tackle.

Good questions for sure. I also question the signing of Gradkoski who has been having trouble staying healthy. He plays guard and center so he is obviously back-up or to replace someone moved to a different position to strengthen the suddenly weaker "O" line, but I don't see him as a quality player. That is why I question the signing. Whoever is under center may have to carry the "O" line and that's asking a lot of a rookie.
The Jets should avoid anyone named Geno.....

I am starting believe that the Jets signed Gradkowski as insurance to Winters...

Maybe Braden doesn't make the active 53, Gradkowski could be backup for both guard spots, Swanson also can play guard...
With Ijalana out, is this door opening for Garcia or are they hoping Qvale can be the new swing man?
I believe for this line, 8 is more than enough but the question now remains how much confidence they have in Qvale, unless they find another veteran option via free agency...
It depends partly on how serious Beachum's foot injury is and how many games he will miss. I haven't heard anything one way or the other on that subject and whether or not Gradkowski is really healthy and more productive for us than he has been for his last 4 teams.
Mac has really dropped the ball with this OL. We have 2 franchise QB's and both are going to get hurt behind this shithole OL.
that is a thin OL.......Qvale is garbage. Not sure I see the promise in Shell either, but I'm no OL expert. It's easy to see where the 2019 draft/free agency will go for Gang Green, but geez, can we keep the our QB healthy? Really surprised to only see Long as a decent addition. It's also a bit scary to see Winters on the shelf still. Who knows though, maybe the starting group gets on the field and gels. Have to believe the mobility of Darnold will help the OL and if we're talking about winning then maybe Sam gives them the best chance.
