I hate signing 30 year old FA's, but Barr f--ked us over and Justin Houston would still be the best edge rusher on the team from the moment he walks in the building, at least until draft night when we pull the trigger on Bosa, Allen or Sweat. Bosa is a no brainer if he slides to #3, and if not, draft the highest graded ER on our board, Allen or Sweat. BTW with the 49ers acquiring Dee Ford, there's a good chance Bosa falls to us if Arizona takes Murray.

The 49ers bigger hole now that they have Ford is DT. Earl Mitchell will be 32 when the 2019 season kicks off, is a free agent and not worth re-signing.

But RIGHT NOW get Houston because I'd rather have two ER's than one, and Houston is only a short term thing, not a long term answer.

2 year deal and I'm in. He can still be productive just look at Dwight Freeney. He was productive into his late 30's.

Yep! Zona taking a QB, 49ers are trading out to a team needing a QB and Jets will get a franchise changing Pass Rusher in Bossa!! If no 49er trade, then Jets gets another great pass rusher in Allen! It's win, win as long as Jets keep our 3rd pick. Hmmm another Kleco or Gastineau on Jets again! After that pick I hope Jets Draft Center and O linemen for Depth or turns out to be good like many other Clubs has done like Broncos and their Center. I do miss the play of 2 of Jets greatest Centers in Mawae and Mangold

This season if all the "IF's" in FA signings along with this Draft and last 2 years of first round pick plays as good again we will be in Playoffs. If Bell is the same, If WR's are better and not inj- if Darnold has less INT's- if CB Johnson can be motivated- if Defense can get pressure on QB's- if-if-if-if-if...sounds a lot like my Mets., IF............. I'm ready to be done with "IF's" and win some games! Lets Go Mets-Jets!!

I'd go Ansah over Houston, and I'd want to address C. I don't see Harrison as a viable center option. I'd even go older in that position because I think it could help Darnold's development. It's one of the few positions where I'd prefer a bit of age.

But I'd also want to try to draft a future starting C in the middle rounds.

Agree with everything you mentioned Sack on Ansah and a center. Losing Paradis to me was Mac's biggest whiff this off season. I don't understand how Mosley became the priority over protecting Darnold. Not even sure why we needed Mosley after we signed Barr.

Agreed about everything. I'm glad they did sign Mosley. Maybe they already knew Barr was apprehensive.

What I don't get about C is that this is the same mistake the team made last year. They let the top guys, like Jensen, go elsewhere, ended up with Plan C in Long, and it was a disaster. Why not have Paradis and Morse as your two guys? When you have that much cap room and someone like Paradis went that relatively cheap, there is no excuse.

I'd steer clear of Ansah Sack, not just because of his age, but because he is EXTREMELY injury prone. He is good when he plays but he'd be lucky to last half a dozen games. He's injured more parts of his body than I have left. Of course his age means that situation isn't likely to improve.

How is paradis a whiff exactly? He only wanted to play for an instant contender. He didn't want to go to a building team.

I would definitely sign Houston, he's not worth elite money, but I'd pay him respectable money for sure. Maybe he likes the prospect of what this defense is quickly becoming, and what he would mean. An elite defense, elite running game, franchise qb? Sounds good to me.

We need to sign Sullivan at center, that buys us 2-3 years to find one. If we sign the guard from Miami our line will be decent this year. Darnold, bell, and the o line will feed off each other.

Elite edge rushers aren't usually available, this year, they will be. Take one and run. Then next year we will have a full set of picks with a lot of QBs going early.

ER this year in first round, cb in third, best available after that.

Take next year as it comes. I'm sure there will be options to address o line long term.

Over the last 6 years, they finished 1st, 1st, 1st, 4th, 2nd, 3rd in their division. 4 trips to the playoffs, 1 super bowl appearance.

This is the 9th season with their coach, who is a2 time coach of the year, with a record of 73-60.

Compare to jets, first year with a new coach, zero playoff appearances, 2 seasons above 5 wins. So yeah......

I get that, but we are talking about now. 7-9 last year and Cam is breaking down and not even a good QB. He either picked Carolina because because of the city or because Mac didn't offer enough if he even called him. If Mac didn't make the call just add that to the list of failures. The other two reasons are not his fault.
