a 4-3 also allows us to use Lee at weak-side OLB, his natural position. That may be more valuable than the 3rd or 4th round pick you could get for him
Darron Lee is rumored to be on the chopping block. If the Jets take Josh Allen, combined with the Hewitt and Copeland re-signings, he’s gone.
Mosley, Williamson, Jenkins, Allen, Copeland, Hewitt.
Now if the Jets don’t take a pass rusher at #3, the question becomes whether or not they see Lee moving outside. I don’t know what Gregg Williams envisions there.
Your forgetting Luvu or has something happened or happening with him that I'm not aware of? Trading Lee seems to be the best thing all around, whether we draft Allen or not or switch to the 4-3 or not. If we switch to the 4-3 then our starters can be Mosely, Williams and Allen (if they draft him) and if not they can use Jenkins as the other starter, with Luvu, Hewitt and Copeland coming off the bench. If they stay with the 3-4 then starters can be Mosely, Williamson, Jenkins and Allen (if they draft him) and if they don't then Luvu can start with Copeland and Hewitt off the bench. Lee can be used as a decent trade bait either way, at this point.
Lee is still on his rookie contract, so there’s appeal there for potential interest. But looking at past deals for draft pick compensation, I’m not optimistic that the Jets would get anything more than a 4th round pick for him. And that’s best case scenario.
But that LB unit is getting crowded. Mosley and Williamson are the unquestioned starters at ILB.
If this tackle is that good then hell yeah you do it, BUT IS HE? I'd say if this kid is that good, then try and get the Giants #6, #17 and their second round pick (at the least) and more IF YOU CAN GET IT. If that's all the Jets can get then do it and draft that tackle at #6, an edge rusher at #17 and WR like K'Neal Harry from ASU in the second round. Can't be mad with type of trade at all then!!!
If the Jets can something MORE then reasonable and I say exactly that! Not necessarily a landslide but something MORE then reasonable then I say do it. So let’s say and we know this won’t happen but let’s say if the Giants traded both their first rounders, their third and next year third. Or let’s say their #6, their second and third this year and their first rounder next year then let’s do it. Or the Raiders trade their top two first round and their second pick this year then let’s do it.
Draft this tackle somewhere in the first round and a pass rusher in the later first round to go with him. We have plenty of decent to excellent LBs to play in the 3-4 without drafting Allen at #3. Get the best oline men to truly help Darnold and this offense for the next ten plus years.
Listen to Tony Pauline's remarks on Jawaan Taylor and Andre Dillard at the end of this podcast. Fast forward to 18:20Andre Dillard is the best LT to come out of college in the last 2 years.
I just mentioned that on another thread. This is not just my opinion, and Ham's of course, but of every scout out there.

We gave up three 2nd round picks for a QB so I would expect equal compensation for someone trading up for a QB.
Just listened to it and if this true, then he's definitely worth looking into and given the right trade offer, I'd do it. So if the Giants gave up both their first rounders, their second this year and a second for next year, I'd take it and draft Dilliard at #6 (I'd rather draft a pass rusher at #6 and Dilliard at #17 but wouldn't want to take the chance on losing Dilliard) so draft him at #6 and the best pass rusher at #17.
