1-5 or 1-6 start is very possible.

VERY SAD TCT and Bigmoe that you think this way about a franchise/OUR FRANCHISE that is clearly on the rise. NOT in a year or two from now but this year. No, I'm not say they are a 11-5 AFC East division winner but, DAMN! 1-5, 1-6 to start the season off, come on man HAVE A LITTLE FAITH. If this is the schedule, the Jets might start off a little ruff but finish quite strong in the middle and end. Plus, 4 of those 6 starting games are at home so some crowd intensity should help the Jets reach a 3-3, 2-4 at worst I'd say.

I think we will be better, but we are so far away I don't think a handful of players is going to change that. Once the team proves itself I will believe.

Here is my positive spin. No real travel in first 7 weeks. That's good and no west coast games.

Since I'm a pessimist/Realist, then you are definitely an optimist. I bet we end up somewhere between 4 and 12 wins.

Your a little wrong in your thinking here, I stop watching not because they were losing but I hated the direction they were going in. Before drafting Darnold, there were quite a few years they were going solely or mostly with this vet, rethread BS and it’s just wasn’t working. I got SO DAMN tired of that! Watching Fitzpatrick and McCown on the field with what appeared to be a team that wasn’t even interested in being on the field with them, damn near made my head explode. That was what I wouldn’t watch! My motto back then was, “If you don’t want to play then I don’t want to watch”. I felt that way then and will again if they go back to that BS (hopefully they never do). Now that they are headed in a direction of true youth and better players overall (vet and youth) they have my full attention.

I’ll watch everyone of these games and I’m getting my NFL ticket back in fact. Only reason I’d didn’t get the ticket last year was because I didn’t trust that they were truly changing their thought process and wanted to win, but I was at the sports bar every week pretty much. Except the three weeks Darnold didn’t play of course. Now you add a year of experience under Darnold’s belt and that makes it even more intriguing with the crop of MUCH better (offense and defense) talent they’re putting around him. So even if they don’t win this year they are clearly headed in the right direction and win or lose, I’m all in now. This year I can see some promise all around. So there was a 3-4 year span I stopped watching and paying for the ticket because the product they put on the field wasn’t worth looking at but now it’s different.

Now that this schedule is official, I can talk about it a little more without making a prediction. I won’t predict any records this year because I always set myself up for failure. Except for the years I predict them losing of course. So I’ll just say the schedule looks favorable but won’t be easy of course. I truly like the schedule for a few reasons:

1. It's not like last years when they started off with 3 games in a span of like 2 weeks and two of those games were on the road, I believe. That was pretty much murderers row!
2. Their first six games are very tough but they have four of them at home, so that is a plus for us.
3. Although we play NE twice in the first six games, NE always seems to be beatable during the first 4-5 games of the season. Plus one of those games we play NE on primetime, so the team will more then ready for that one.
4. No west coast games, which is a huge plus for the Jets.
5. The middle of the schedule (games 7-11) I won't say gets easy but most are definitely winnable. Games 12-16, most can be winnable also if they are rolling at that point and can stay healthy.
6. Last, with 3 scheduled primetime games, the Jets know they have to step their game up and that Steelers game might be a possible flex game. Barring the health of L. Bell and Darnold, and the Steelers key offensive players and both teams records by then.

Overall, the Jets have to finish this off season (draft, FA etc-etc) strong and I believe they will. If the Jets can stay healthy, are coached well and they play together, smart and hard I don’t see another 4-12 season. Let’s just say that!

I agree with you. Before it seemed like the Jets Front office was just adding retreads to play. This year it looks like the Jets can challenge the rest of the league.

Sadly, for us to succeed this season, I believe we need to get off to a fast start. If we go 1-6 this team will quit.

That said. Early bye week sucks. It looks like 2-4 start is best case scenario.

Even if we go undefeated in our first 6 we are 4-2 to start which is great but puts us 2 back in the division and already assures us second place at best... Which is all we will ever be as long as Belichick lives anyway.

Good news is we don't have to lose to the cheatah s Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Years weekend. I think last year we had that twice

positive outlook, If we found a way to go 3-1 in our first 6 non cheatah games then we have a real shot at second in the division. I just don't see that happening

We might be able to challenge the rest of the league, but knowing we are second in our division at best makes that task even harder

The weak link on the team, for me, is Darnold the rookie. The rest of the team seems vastly improved and I believe the coaching staff is much better as well.

My modest expectation is 8/8, maybe 9/7...
