Now that this schedule is official, I can talk about it a little more without making a prediction. I won’t predict any records this year because I always set myself up for failure. Except for the years I predict them losing of course. So I’ll just say the schedule looks favorable but won’t be easy of course. I truly like the schedule for a few reasons:
1. It's not like last years when they started off with 3 games in a span of like 2 weeks and two of those games were on the road, I believe. That was pretty much murderers row!
2. Their first six games are very tough but they have four of them at home, so that is a plus for us.
3. Although we play NE twice in the first six games, NE always seems to be beatable during the first 4-5 games of the season. Plus one of those games we play NE on primetime, so the team will more then ready for that one.
4. No west coast games, which is a huge plus for the Jets.
5. The middle of the schedule (games 7-11) I won't say gets easy but most are definitely winnable. Games 12-16, most can be winnable also if they are rolling at that point and can stay healthy.
6. Last, with 3 scheduled primetime games, the Jets know they have to step their game up and that Steelers game might be a possible flex game. Barring the health of L. Bell and Darnold, and the Steelers key offensive players and both teams records by then.
Overall, the Jets have to finish this off season (draft, FA etc-etc) strong and I believe they will. If the Jets can stay healthy, are coached well and they play together, smart and hard I don’t see another 4-12 season. Let’s just say that!
