I didn't give any impression. It seems PFF is the guide most people turn to for their top end analysis.

Oh, and PFF also had Trevon Wesco as the best TE in their Big 12 rankings. Not sure about his overall ranking, but they weren't the only ones high on him.

As for whose spot he's taking, if you think you're landing a sure starter in the fifth round, you might be expecting a bit much. You are looking for the best players who make it to that point, hoping they help your specials and develop into something good.
Just curious because I don't look at PFF and don't have it tagged either, but in what order do they rank the following players?

WR Anthony Johnson
CB Corey Ballentine
TE Tevon Wesco
LB Blake Cashman

Just curious, if it's not too much trouble.

I don't have their big board. I'm not sure if someone else can look that up or not.

Walter Football:

"New York Jets: Blake Cashman, LB, Minnesota A Grade
This is another terrific linebacker pick. We'll see what happens with Darron Lee in the future, and I could envision Blake Cashman eventually starting for the Jets. He's small (6-1, 237) and doesn't have much experience, but his instincts and athleticism are at a high level. He has great potential and probably should've been chosen a whole round earlier.

And I assume you meant Trevon Wesco. I'm not sure about overall grade, but he was lower. I think about 228 on their big board. Other analysts seemed to like him more than PFF does. But he was rated 7th best run blocker among TEs.

Just trying to be fair and look at all analysis.

Now, Walter Football has mostly liked our draft. They were not crazy about Edoga. But they liked Polite, Wesco, Cashman.

I'm not familiar with their rankings, which one was higher?

I don't know where Johnson was on their big board, but if he slipped from around a 90 grade a year ago to 83.4, I would assume he was at least a bit lower than Cashman.

This is where Walter has us right now, all the Jets picks. I'm surprised by how lukewarm he is to Quinnen.

They seem to simply be basing it on rumors that Gregg Williams wanted Ed Oliver instead, which is silly because all kinds of rumors and smokescreen are part of the draft, thats why they call it the lying season, so there's no way to confirm that rumor and Q ranked higher on every board including theirs!

I doubt the Jets took Quinnen if Gregg wanted Oliver. Why would they overrule the defensive guy to take another defensive player? That makes no sense.

And with the Jets supposedly in talks with the Bills, I wonder how much of the Oliver stuff was a smokescreen to try to get them to trade up.

Point is, Quinnen is Oliver with some bulk. I'll take the Oliver with bulk over the Oliver without bulk. And I tend to distrust when guys rise fast in the last week before the draft. I'm glad the Jets got Darnold over Mayfield and I'm glad they got Quinnen over Oliver.

Geez Quinnen looks small for a 6’3 300lb guy. Just be the camera angle.

He has had two knee injuries.

Big upside, if he can stay healthy. This is a bit of a lottery ticket. Hoping to cash in with his health. He stays healthy, it's great value in the sixth. He doesn't, it's a wasted late pick.

At least this pick makes sense to me. He's a good pick if he can get healthy, and stay that way, His injury history is a concern, but otherwise an OK pick.

some sources show us w a pick in 7th round - some show none- did we toss that into one of the draft day deals?
