I’m at a lost for words here. Let me first say that I didn’t get a chance to watch any of Day three but I checked my phone as much as possible and just aren’t any words. Mac obviously knows something that none of us does because he pretty much went way off the deep end here. Let me count the ways:

1. He doesn’t draft a WR when Hakeem Butler was staring him right in the DAMN face in the fourth round.

2. More importantly he doesn’t draft a center and there were one or two good ones there in the fourth.

3. He drafted another LB and we had like 20 of them prior to THAT draft pick. Plus the one he drafts is very suspect.

4. That LB he drafted past the fourth round should have been another oline men, center or not!

5. I believe he drafted a CB but there were better ones still available late in the draft and he probably drafted the wrong one.

Overall, Mac left a lot of talent on the board from the fourth round on and there aren’t many words to describe that or how I’m feeling right now. Not good Mac, not good at all!

1. Butler went to Cardinals with 1st pick in 4th round. Ridley was still available though. That was a need pick IMO since we have no idea how Anderson's contract will play out next year.
2. I agree
3. To me the LB was a complete wasted pick. We have plenty and thats when you draft for need.
5. The CB is basically Dee Milliner health wise.

Yep on agreeing with you here, Wesco is primarily a blocker without much of a receiving resume, but he could possibly replace Leggett or Tomlinson. I think Edoga who can play left or right tackle is only average and Cashman and Austin are high risk because of their injury history. I think Austin, due to injury, only played 5 or 6 games over 2 seasons.

While some may look at Edoga as just average, I see him as having a unique skill set. His quick feet give him the ability to stay on his block , even against the best edge rushers. That bodes very well for a QB who has the mobility to move around the pocket. I believe Darnold might be ecstatic with having his former teammate drafted to help keep him upright..who knows when Edoga will be quite ready to move into the LT spot, but in the meantime, I think he could be plugged in to any of the O-Line spots...maybe even Center. Hey, he’s actually 1/2 inch shorter than Mangold, and roughly the same weight.

I will agree that he has the potential but overall most agree that he hasn't shown it yet. I am intrigued by the fact that he has played center as well which might mean he could be a back-up for Harrison. He has about the same physical limitations as Beachum when it comes to the LT position so becoming an upgrade there isn't likely but in all fairness he could step in and play there if Beacum is unable and maybe even play equally as well. I'm not down on him but there were better options that Mac passed on. And a final note, I'm sure you are right about Sam being happy about the pick and that might even have had something to do with the pick.

I really have not read anywhere that he has played center, but that’s just me and my wishfully thinking of the possibilities. I’m also thinking back to last year and the horrendous drive stopping penalties taken by Qvale and Tomlinson. I’m thinking they both needed to be replaced on the roster, and personally, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Jets didn’t go into the draft with replacements in mind for those two players who seemed to have a chronic habit of taking drive killing penalties.

1. no, Butler was taken before the jets picked in the 4th. he was the 1st pick of the 4th; the jets would have picked 3rd if not for trading down

2. name the good centers taken in the 4th? all the good ones were gone in the first 2 rounds. mcgovern went in the 3rd (he's listed as a guard, but could play center), but was taken 2 picks before the jets took the o-lineman from USC.

3. lots of good things being said about cashman. and he's a 5th round pick.

4. the LB was drafted in the 5th. the TE was taken in the 4th, and he's supposed to be an excellent blocker and has recently developed into a receiving threat. he can play TE, h-back, fullback and help pass protect and open holes in the running game. it's funny the criticism of not taking lineman and then criticizing a guy known as an excellent blocking TE.

5. i'm sure you scouted all the CBs, especially those taken in the late rounds. i have no idea if austin is any good. and i too question taking a guy with such an injury history. but let's not pretend you have any clue which 6th/7th round CBs are better

Chuma only subbed at center during his freshman year as far as I read but it showed he could play there. He primarily played right tackle. We did get rid of our biggest penalty machine, as my grandkids called him, Buster Skrine.

I don't know where you read that Edoga is good in pass protection to be a good left tackle. Edoga is a run blocker and will thrive as a RG and can be used at RT. To say Darnold is thrilled to have Edoga to keep him upright is vastly misleading.

I do know what I saw on the senior bowl practice video where they played Edoga at Left Tackle, and he was very impressive. You are entitled to your opinion, but going by what I saw , I am of the opinion that Shell is in the plans at RT, and Edoga, the future LT. Again, I am basing my beliefs on what I saw of him at the senior bowl, and the practice sessions at Left Tackle. Here, in this video, is a small sample of where I think Edoga shows promise as our future LT.

Vastly misleading if you take my statement out of context.what I said was he stays on his block (very quick feet) .I definitely don’t see him as a powerful run blocker.

Mehta reporting that the Jets were indeed trying hard to move up into the top of the 2nd, and it was for one of the CB’s. Presumably Byron Murphy or Rock Ya Sin.

Im sure the asking price was astronomical.

After the first two picks, all of those other picks would have been worth with giving up for Murphy probably.

mehta is also reporting (or mehta is throwing crap against the wall), that the jets were looking to trade with philly for the #57 pick and use it on mecole hardman. but the chiefs traded up and grabbed hardman a spot earlier

Absolutely agreed. He's athletic, but he's not a road grader by any stretch. He's a LT or nothing, unless he bulks up.

We got jumped on Hardman and McGovern. Admittedly, I know nothing about Hardman. But Conor McGovern would’ve been the type of versatile OL that Macc typically likes. (G/C).

It is entirely possible, that now with the draft behind us, and with Mac , not being able to land our future Center ie Erik McCoy, it is quite possible they will now take seriously a one or two year fix by signing Wisnieski. I believe the reason he became a FA was the fact that the Eagles couldn’t guarantee him a starting spot. Now that Mac didn’t get his man, I think he might just look to Wisnieski.
