LT Desmond Harrison (25 years old) has been cut

Started the first half of the season for Cleveland as a UDFA, so still only 25 with room for growth.

Could be a good waiver claim for the Jets, even if it's just for depth.

any report on why the guy didn't show up to minicamp??
No, but my guess is he's not happy about losing his starting job to Greg Robinson.

BTW Greg Robinson was a former #2 overall pick so there's no shame in a former UDFA losing his job to Robinson.

Missing the flight and mini camp wasn't the only problem with him. He lost the starting job because he wasn't up to par and since that time just hasn't been willing to put in the work to get back to form. Browns weren't willing to play nurse maid to him even as a back-up. Doesn't speak very high of his character as I see it. I'd pass on him.

ryan leaf was a former #2 draft pick as well

robinson is not very good. and harrison apparently graded out as one of the lowest tackles in the league. can't hurt to bring a guy in for a look, but i'd temper my enthusiasm for an UDFA who is pouting over losing his job after grading out poorly
[h=3]Browns waived OT Desmond Harrison.[/h]
Harrison was reportedly late to minicamp. An UDFA rookie last year, Harrison somehow won the Browns' Week 1 starting left-tackle job and remained there for the first eight games. He received atrocious grades from Pro Football Focus and was benched in favor of ex-bust Greg Robinson. The left-tackle situation in Cleveland is a real issue heading into the summer, and one that is going overlooked by many.

ALOT would have to be given up for him. They’d probably would ask for someone like L. Williams and our first or second round draft pick for next year. Maybe even more then that.

They can ask for whatever they want. Doesn't mean thats all they will take for a 31 year old LT that wants out. I would give them L Williams and a 3rd.

Don’t know if I’m willing to give up L. Williams for a 31 year old LT. Even one as good T. Williams. I want to see L and Q. Williams work together for at least one year to see what they can do together. If Q really is what they say and project him to be then he will help L. Williams greatly. They will cause havoc all year long. Hopefully the Jets can pick up one or two more oline men and at least one or two CBs after training camp cuts. Someone(s) who will give us what we need at both positions.

LW has to produce more or he is getting cut and we get nothing. I highly doubt we will get what we need with cuts. I would take an elite LT with 4 good years over someone who has no production in 4 years. Then again why would the Redskins want LW.

Once again we disagree TCT! L. Williams definitely did not turn out to be what they projected but he isn't trash either. So you can't say he hasn't done anything or has had no production in 4 years. He has made a pro-bowl and he's still only 24 years old. I'd say that's something! It's not all what we wanted and hoped for but it's something. I'd say L. Williams is an above average player at this point, I would think that would be pretty fair to say.

Yes you/we want more out of a top ten pick. Especially one who was projected to be the top player coming out of his draft. Maybe now with Q, that will open the doors for L to be that dominate player we all hoped for. Maybe he will take his game to that next level of being an excellent player at the least. He may never take his game up two levels of being a great player but as long as he can go to that next level of being an excellent player, I say he was worth the pick.

As for as trading for Williams, IMO they will want way more then L. Williams and a 3rd rounder. Yes their Williams is 31 but he still is a dominate player and they will want the house and yard for him. If he was 27 or younger, I'd say do it but a 31 year old tackle who might only give your 3 more years of great play, he may give you 6 more years of great play or he may be done period and can't give you anymore years of great play. Decision-Decision!!!

Well everything you said about LW is a MAYBE. Plus he was an alternate in the ridiculous ProBowl. Trent (there are too many Williams) is an upgrade. They may want more, but I bet they can't get more. TW can just say kiss my ass and sit out. Look what happened for Goff and the Rams when they signed a veteran LT. LW is the one guy we have a duplicate of and is probably only player up for trade. It probably won't happen, but 4.25 sack average per year is not good. Don't say he was double teamed because Aaron Donald is triple teamed and had more sacks in one year than LW has in 4. A stud LT with a stud LG makes this offense top 10. The Jets defense will be same whether LW is here or not. And we won't sign him long term to big money or at least we shouldn't. Mac is gone and hopefully his stupid contracts. I doubt we will get Trent, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to upgrade the team. I'm ok with Beachum for one more year so I'm not saying we have to get TW or bust. And you never know maybe the new GM and Gase can actually use that 3rd round pick on a player that can be a starter unlike past GM's.

Can't argue or debate anything your saying and it makes sense.
