Here’s an idea

The Jets have like 5 million linebackers and 2 billion defensive linemen, why not trade one of each to a team that needs them for a quality cornerback. The LB and DE or NT or DT doesn’t have to be a starter but two reliable depth players, plus a higher round draft pick that can bring us back a quality starting CB. The Cardinals for example are horrible in their front seven. I watched them tonight and they got no pressure on the Raiders and got torched. Or maybe the Dolphins, the Seahawks or the Chiefs.

So maybe a James Burgess, Hewitt or Copeland or Luvu and pick any dline men other then our starters. This CB issue is getting ridiculous and everyone is noticing and talking about it. I’m sure Douglas will address this during other teams cuts. So I know he’s not going to overlook it but we are ridiculously deep and LB and dline men, so addressing it now by trading one of each for a quality starting CB would be great at this point. Once again, I’m sure the Cardinals CB situation is better then ours.

I would trade Leonard Williams and or Marcus Maye. Either player wont be terribly missed. We are sooo deep on dline. Look at all the rotations tonite and how well they played and williams wasnt even on the field. He is a solid player but is a bust for a 6th overall pick on his 5th year option. Maye has more potential - but he is always hurt and we are good at Safety without him. Take those two and turn them into a top flight cornerback PLEASE

L. Williams, Copeland and a high draft pick (say a third) would get us a an excellent CB, I would think. Only thing is I believe Williams will be a beast with Q on the other side of him. I really would like to see them on the field together but at this point, if LW will get us what we need then do it. I don’t think Maye will be of any value because he’s always hurt. So if he ever gets back on the field, we might as well keep him and let him and Middleton work the free safety spot for the next couple of years.

Leonard was supposed to be the guy who makes others great - he isnt

Yeah you’re right about that. He’s had 3 or 4 years to prove himself and he hasn’t so far. Not to his potential or what we thought it would be anyway.
