The players in this league are starting to get real tired of Baker as I knew they would. Eventually his teammates will too if they haven't already.
I was always against Baker because of his attitude. I also didn't think he would be a good pro. He set the rookie TD record basically against bad defenses. The league has probably figured him out. At least Darnold is an athlete.
Its definitely early, but I think Darnold can succeed in any system. Baker can't.
I've watched Cleveland a few times and always come away with the same thought: WTF is Freddie Kitchens doing? He's as bad, if not worse, than Gase. The guy has absolutely no feeling for calling a game, especially with a young QB.
They have one of my favorite RBs on their squad, Nick Chubb. This kid can flat out ball and provide Mayfield with a legit play action threat. Instead, this friggin' dope Kitchens calls five wide formations or silly gadget plays. Most of the time Mayfield is running for his life. Best thing for that team is to find a serious offensive coordinator.

Right? WTF happened. Last night they quoted some stat where Mayfield was automatic in the red zone last year but not at all successful this season. Yeah, I know DCs adjust and figure players out. But Mayfield looks completely lost. And I believe most of it is Kitchens' play calling and overall scheme. Especially as the Niners were on fire last night on D, it's like Kitchens had never heard of concentrating on the run for a while to soften them up. Or going to quick two/three step drops. Kitchens' game plan last night was just inexcusable.
Playing the Seahawks this week, Mayfields job isn’t getting any easier.
He threw a lot of overthrows last night and seemed skittish dropping back.

Unlike the Jets' track record, the Niners' front office has smarts and understands how to build a winning football team.

Me either. I've come to accept it as my reality as a Jet fan. It's like being born and living your entire life next to a slaughter house. You come to associate the nauseating smells and blood curdling shrieks as a normal part of life.
all i'm hoping for is that darnold can stay heathly until season's end.. that & not get pummeled behind this debocale of an OL..
douglas still hasn't gotten his first real shot at fixing the OL.. ****ing maccagnan.....
Yeah, I'm hoping Darnold will show us something, too. And with the O Line, it's only up from here. With not that much effort, Douglas should be able to improve on those stiffs in next year's draft/off season signings. If not, he will join the bevy of fools who have been our GMs over the years.

I think yesterday shows what Darnold can be. Baker is proving to be exactly what I thought he would be. Thank you Cleveland.
Darnold just has a way higher ceiling. He is a way better athlete. Perfect QB for NY.
