The Jets have found their next kicker.

They can only hope this is the last time they do this.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Jets plucked Sam Ficken from today’s workout.

Ficken was with the Packers and Seahawks this offseason, and was with the Rams briefly in 2017 and 2018.

He’s hit 2-of-3 career field goals, and should be a boon for New York tabloid headline writers in the coming weeks.

UPDATE 3:09 p.m. ET: The Jets announced the Ficken signing, and the corresponding release of Kaare Vedvik.

Former Packers kicker they are saying is very good. I believe that he went toe to toe in kicks obviously with Crosby and either beat him or stayed with him. They stuck with Crosby because he’s earned that right.

He can't be any worse than Vedvik so before I start ragging on him I'm going to see how he performs for us next week.

Yes they did. I read kickers account for 30% of NFL scoring .

How do you let Myers go ??? 5 mil???? That's worth at least one win which we see gone now.

I knew this was costing us wins and now it's game 2 and we're still not sure.

OK ! Great posts guys! Finally some Ficken humor on this site and a hole Ficken bunch of it. I've been trying to get a Ficken laugh out of you guys for Ficken years and worried that not one of you Ficken guys had a Ficken sense of humor and now I know that at least some of you Ficken do. Nice Ficken Job.

somehow missed this new kicker post yesterday. Glad we found a replacement and I'm sure he can't be any worse

If he gets 30% of our scoring every game, what's 30% of 3? Can't really make that big of a difference can he? Maybe we don't need a kicker after all. sort of like offensive lineman. Since Sam does better out of the pocket on the run, why waste money on offensive lineman either. I say we save up and put all of our money into the defensive line. Everybody picks on Mac but clearly he was a genius
