How Bad Are our Wide Receivers

Here is a question I have been thinking about....In the last ten years how do our current WR's compare in skill level (I think we may have the worst now - not including Thomas). Here are some that I think are comparable:

2019 Jets .
Crowder
Enuwa
Bellamy
Berrios
Robby

2011 Jets
Santonio
(37 year old) Derick Mason
Patrick Turner
Kerley
(34 yr old fresh out of jail) Plaxico

2014 Jets
Greg Salas
David Nelson
Kerley
Percy Harvin (HIP)
Eric Decker

Crowder beats Kerley in the slot in 2014 but probably 2011 kerley is his equal.
Santonio was skilled but attiude killed him for us in 2011 - clearly more skilled than anyone on our roster
Decker was never a #1 but he was better than Enuwa and Robby for sure in 2014
Plaxico and Mason were terrible in 2011 - I still credit that wr crew with what killed Sanchez (besides the fact he was never very good to begin with)
2014 was a joke with Harvin who had the hip issue all season.

Needless to say it is arguable the worst WR group in the last ten years is our current group. The only saving grace is Crowder and possibly Thomas if he can return to an 80% or better version of himself. Thoughts?

I agree we get all excited every year when all you need to do is look at the roster......but we do have Bell & three yards of dust

True. But imagine if we had Bell in 2010. That year we had the best receiving crew in the last ten and it still wasnt great by NFL standards. Young Kerley, Santonio before he went crazy and in his prime, and braylon dropsies edwards. We had LT at RB he was great that year but he was old and not Levon Bell =). We also had our hotdog QB.

This year is a wash anyway. If Joe gets us a #1 CB, upgrades the oline, finds us an edge rusher and a #1 WR - we are super bowl bound next year as long as Sam doesnt pull a Vinny and tear his achiles game 1 lol.

Might as well add, bring Parcells out of retirement, to that list of things that will put us in the superbowl. Oh yeah and global warming needs to put Foxboro underwater

Doesn't matter. I remember when it seemed like every long pass completion was called back because of a Chris Ward penalty.

How true that was...….Ward had talent but he treated every DL like Marilyn Monroe
He just could not keep his hands off of them

LOL!
True 'dat.
And he so anxious to put his hands on them, he would also jump the snap count to do it.

In answer to the original question, I'm 75 years old, had a heart attack two months ago, and am listed as #6 on the depth chart.

Just in case you didn’t know, Ty Montgomery was once a WR. He in fact came in the league drafted as a WR and was then converted to a RB in Green Bay a year or two later. Now ofcourse you guys all know that but the question is does Adam Gase and the rest of the CS know that? They can actually use him on the field quite a bit as the 4th WR now that Enunwa is injured, 3rd WR for this upcoming game if Thomas isn’t going to play.

I’ve said like 15 times already that there is no reason for Montgomery to not be on the field 30-40 plays a game and actually get the ball 10-15 times at least. He only got 5 plays in the Bills games. That is insane, unexplainable, stupid and just horrible coaching. Giving Bell every play (67) they played is obvious but why wasn’t Montgomery on the field just as much? At least half the amount of plays that Bell was on the field.

Montgomery is a legit weapon and he has to be on the field and used for us to have a chance at winning. That’s like not playing Herndon when he returns. Just fucking stupid!!!
