21 days - back after the bye
21 days - back after the bye
Based on doctors with whom I have spoken, the timeline for Sam is very uncertain
1. Is his spleen swollen? happens frequently with mono. If so, no contact sports at all until swelling is gone. Probably not any practice until swelling is gone. Contact with a swollen spleen runs the risk of rupture
2. Is he healthy? that might be just a few weeks - before a doctor can say he is healthy enough to play or practice
3. Is he strong enough to play? Mono gives you fatigue, you tend to lose weight. Some college kids who get mono basically end up skipping a whole semester - not able to handle going to class etc etc.
If the spleen isnt swollen and he gets healthy and strong at the short end of the spectrum, could be just a month. At the pessimistic end, could miss the season.
