Funny how most of us were probably think after the Dallas win that maybe Gase isn't so bad. He just needed his QB back. Now after one devastating lose, here we go again with the FIRE Gase stuff, LOL!

I personally don't blame anyone for feeling that way and I'm trying my hardest not to and give the guy a chance till the end of next year at least. However; I must admit it's not easy to think that way with the way they got destroyed last night and the three games without Darnold.

didn't want him when they hired him...
was pissed off he gave Darnold mono...
got annoyed he couldn't coach up the backup QBs to give the team a chance to succeed without Sam...
was like so what we beat up a team that overlooked us, yes Sam looked good but wait til next week...
after the first interception turned off the game, knew it was over then...

now the rest of our schedule is against losing records and we still have no chance...
coach was asked if any coaching staff moves would or should be made and he overlooked that they were talking about him...
will Joe D. make moves acquire draft capitol or will they stand pat and keep wasting away week after week, year after year...

A few more games like yesterday's and we might start seeing something similar:

The most insane part about the McCarthy snub is the guy actually said the only job he was interested in was as Jets' HC. So, of course, we said no thanks to an eventual HOF HC. And why not? We had wunderkind/Just-fired-from-Miami Adam Gase waiting in the wings. Idiots.

Jets: "No thanks Mike, your winning ways aren't welcome here".

McCarthy: But I won a Superbowl, and I have 10 postseason victories, I also beat Belichick a few years ago"

Jets: Security...please escort Mr. McCarthy out of the Building.

Someone REALLY needs to check the water in the Jets Front office....something must be causing this delusional thinking.

Sack, I usually agree with your posts and almost always take a measured viewpoint, but last night was egregious. I know that you were an offensive lineman, and I seem to recall that you have coached. Have you ever seen such poor preparation and the lack of adjustments to the continued use of the same blitz package ? Where were the short routes, the two tight end formations, the sight adjustments by the receivers, the automatic slides by the offensive linemen, etc.? This was as bad as the Kotite year. I fear for Darnold’s health, let alone his confidence. I know that the roster has great shortcomings, but what makes you think that Gase is the solution, rather than part of the problem?
One additional problem, of course, is the organizational structure. Douglas can’t fire Gase, even if he wanted to do so. I don’t see the Johnson’s admitting a mistake, even if they believed it to be necessary.

Fair points. I would suggest the first change might be a position coach, the OL coaching. This is a bit of a surprise, as I thought much higher of Pollack when he was brought in.

I would have called on some screens, gotten the ball to Bell and Montgomery a bit to negate the pass rush.

Now, as for whether Gase is part of the solution or the problem, I really don't know yet. That said, I desperately want to see what Darnold would do in the second year of a system. He has never had that luxury.

I understand the angst, but I would urge patience. It's not easy, and right now we're seeing the worst. This season will be frustrating. The Jets are going to go on a run with the easier schedule and the team meshing in the new system in the second half. All that will do is wreck the draft choice. Prepare to be frustrated.

I had 2 thoughts after the Dallas game.

1. Wow. I can't believe we actually won a game
2. Wow. I can't believe the Cowboys could play that badly

I think if McCarthy was such a hot candidate, he would have a job right now.
