Sam Darnold is not recognizing coverages

So who says the jets are not playing as a unit. Darnold & the oline both were bad on the same play.....right in sync
Again it cant get worse.....the giants are having so many problems we will win......might win......could win......have a chance......hell we will lose,,,,,,Might get killed...….
I don't know, but every year I say I'm done with this team and then the next year I forget and come right back. Contagious forgetfulness?
I guess we hope they learned from the past mistakes then laugh n cry when the same ole is the same ole comical self is this team...

Sam didn’t get stupid in one season. I honestly feel Sam knows Gase’s system is the shits even if he wont admit it. He is frustrated and is pressing, trying to make chicken soup out of chicken shit. And it isn’t just him.....the whole team is pressing. You cant tell me Khalil, Winters, and Shell , who were at least serviceable last year, all fell off a cliff and forgot how to play. It’s Gase and this shitty system. What kind of coach installs a system that doesn’t account for extra rushers in cover 0 ..... just get the ball out faster ..... you fucking kidding me ??????
You know what I recognize from watching Darnold play? He's not that good. Terrible footwork, not stepping into passes, poor decision making, no ability to navigate in the pocket, etc. Again, we picked the wrong guy based on a limited college career.
And after watching him panic from D line pressure the last few weeks? I also recognize that he will throw a bunch more lollipop INTs. He's Chad without Chad's courage and grit.

I'm going to give you a thumbs up instead of a laugh 'cause I just can't laugh at this stuff any more. The level of play and drafting from this team has been tragically funny.
Look we could all cry but then we would have to buy Adams & Darnold Shirts....that would cost us
True to form, Jet management would probably order irregulars.

Gase: Now one more thing you are supposed to hold onto the ball until you pass it to one of our guys...….wearing the same color uniform remember the same uniform that you are wearing. Just because Leonard Williams played for us two weeks ago you don't give him the ball his uniform is now Blue" But if those big guys up front are going to hit you hard throw the ball to me on the side...….right to me like we are playing catch. Throwing the ball straight up is a no no Sam..
Sam: How do I remember all this & one more question coach......I thought you told me the five guys in front of me are supposed to keep those big guys away from me? They seem to let them all in at the same time. Plus one more I thought our guys are supposed to catch the ball. Also, if Bell is one of the best & he gets 2.8 yards a carry should we not run him on every play for four downs.....You see coach math was my best subect.
Gase: "Sam I am working with them too. It takes time. Remember when you were in first grade....Well that's how I am coaching these guys" Now that you are a big kid in second grade you should know that."

You guys are brutally harsh on Darnold, and as I've said, you just can't evaluate him under these circumstances. If you've never played QB, you don't know what it's like to get rushed every play with no protection - of course your footwork is bad. Of course you're going to misread coverages because you have no time to recognize them. If you're getting coached poorly, you see the results too. If the scheme is bad, you see that too. Some of the turnovers are on Sam for sure, but taken in totality, the regression is not on him. It's on the coaching staff and porous o-line.
Exactly what tons of folks were saying about Geno, Sanchez and Fitz. They always made it about the HC, OC, O line, etc. But never about the QB's level of ability (or lack thereof). Respect your opinion, but I have seen plenty from Darnold which tells me he will be a problem going forward.
