I bet that most of you who love Austin now were killing the pick when it was made. I remember vividly the posts about how we wasted the pick. In fact, this is the perfect type of pick to make in later rounds. This is a gentle nudge to those of you for whom the Jets can never do anything right.
Along similar lines, I posted that we already had our franchise quarterback before Sam’s and the team’s hot streak. It’s amazing how much better our 22 year old qb looks when he actually has time to scan the field and can step into his throws. Did he make some terrible decisions that were inexcusable? Absolutely. Has he already learned from those mistakes? Again, absolutely.
I get that we are all justifiably impatient. But let’s not use that as an excuse for totally irrational thinking. I’m sure that Sam will have bad games again and maybe Austin will get hurt again. But how about if we ditch the absurd talk about drafting another qb in the first round every year, etc. You have the right to post whatever you want, but frankly, many of the posts are very frustrating to read. We’re not 2 year-olds, men. Can we have a forum where most posts are rational?
