I don't see picking Darnold at #3 instead of Jackson was a blunder. For one, we don't know yet how either will develop long-term. Darnold has been pretty good and steadily improving, and Jackson started out lower but has quickly become very good.

If the Jets had picked Rosen, who has done nothing in the NFL, that would have been the kind of pick that could at this point be considered a blunder.

I still believe Darnold was the best QB prospect in that class, and that it will turn out that way over time. As great as Jackson has been this year, it will be interesting to see if he can sustain that level of play and that style of play long term.

I believe Darnold was the best prospect but is he still the best prospect is the question? If Jackson can maintain his current play of athleticism over the next 5-7 years and still keep improving on his accuracy, reading the field, decision making and leadership over his entire career, then NO WAY IN HELL WILL Darnold be the best prospect overall. Darnold is coming along well I must say, especially with the garbage he has around him but Jackson is clearly on another level (maybe even two or three at that.) Of course that has ALOT to do with the team and coaching around him but you can't teach his kind of speed and athleticism and on top of it, the kid has been pretty accurate this year. That's hard to beat and not many if any QB will be able to compare to that if he keeps this up.

What team do you think Darnold will be on when he proves you right?

Wouldn't hurt to consider that he isn't doing it behind our "O" line like Darnold is either,

Who the hell is Larry David? Secondly, when is everyone going to wake up and understand the league catches up with every one year wonder. RG3.... Kaepernick....Mayfield....and to an extent Dak Hell, last year we were all hearing how much better Mayfield was over Darnold. You listen to Bayless after Daks rookie year, hell it was the second coming of God. Well, how did that work out? Darnold improved on a shitty team, and Mayfield regressed on a more talented team and Dak hasn’t done shit since. Anyone see the Bills playoff game this year? Think you may have seen Josh Allens ceiling this year??? I would bet yeah...... Watson had a phemonmal rookie year before being hurt.... and although he is still a very capable QB, he hasn’t been able to recreate that initial year. Aside from Mahomes, and the old guard of established stars ( Rodgers, Brady, etc), I think both NY QB’s (yes Jones) have a higher ceiling than most may think.

You mean after Jets fans and the media run him out of town as a bust because he dared to take some time to develop?
Yeah, because the fan base has final say on player personal decisions....
Darnold has to make a sizeable leap next season, especially if there is a strike in 2021. The salary cap demands it, not the fan base. A QB gets 4 years, 5 if they show promise. With QBs salaries in the $34-35 million dollar range and rising , that's all the time they have to develop.
You can't expect any franchise to invest another 3-4 years on top of the first contact at $35 mill plus a year to see if that QB will develop

I'd say that the 3-4 year window for a QB to develop is now in the 2-3 year range before teams start worrying/contemplating a change.

I've seen enough from Darnbold to know there is something there. The problem for him is he plays for a horrible organization.

Larry David was wrong!! Lamar's success could unravel from here. Every gimmick can be figured out.

Well...... It looks like Vrabel just figured out Lamar Jackson.
Not really. Ravens had a ton of drops, at least 2 were TDs and they came away with nothing both times, the pick that was in and out of Andrews hands and the terrible horse collar call. Ingram shut down pretty much. Lamar had a decent game. His D and recievers let him down tonight.

He did have a good rushing game, but a completion percentage of 52 ain’t gonna cut it . Sure there were some drops, but in the 4th I thought his accuracy was a bit suspect in my opinion

If you make him throw outside then he struggles. If you can take away his running game, he will struggle to beat you with his arm alone.

His rough edges were exposed last night, particularly the fumble where he knew he was surrounded by pass rushers and still wasn't savvy enough to throw it away. Two bad calls against the Ravens early on, the 'horsecollar' already mentioned and the 'late hit OOB' on Tannehill. I hate those calls, both players are going flat out to reach the marker and the officials expect the defender to be watching the sideline instead of the ball carrier's 'belt buckle'.

So Minnesota figured out how to stop Brees and the Saints? Sometimes great teams and players get beat. Last night's perfprmance does not change my mind about Jackson's talent/potential. I just think the Titans are the hot team right now and are playing out of their minds on both sides of the ball. It happens. If they stay hot, don't be surprised if the Titans go all the way, especially with that human sledge hammer at RB.
