The Jets have signed wide receiver Jehu Chesson to a reserve/future contract.

Chesson spent 2019 on the Redskins’ practice squad. The Michigan product was originally selected by the Chiefs in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He spent one year with Kansas City and finished his rookie season with 18 yards on 2 receptions. Chesson then joined the Redskins after the Chiefs waived him and had 1 catch for 7 yards in 2018. The 6’2”, 204-pounder has returned three kicks for 65 yards (21.7 average).

Three catches totaling 25 yards for his career and spent all of 2019 on the Redskins' practice squad. Sounds like a keeper.

He was spectacular in 2015 but after his injury he stunk up the field. This is a signing that is purely to see if he can be revitalized this spring to be at least a #2 for depth. If he doesn't have a really strong showing I'm sure he will be shown the door.

Is this going to be one of those offseasons where the small moves that are a part of every franchise get mocked and ridiculed by Jets fans? Every team makes these smaller moves, and there are always fans there to make obligatory sarcastic comments, like "Super Bowl, here we come" or "this one puts us over the top."

It will get a bit tedious if every small move draws this reaction.

No so much a reaction as an observation. The more guys you work out the better your choices usually. These additions, though minor, are of players currently available and checking all the bases is important in strengthening the team.

Oh, I don't mind the analysis of guys like that. I mind the sarcastic comments by some who don't understand that all teams make both big and small moves.

I'll try to stick to "Championship"
These players are what they are, potential practice squad members. This franchise has been a complete shit show for decades. Fans have every right to be skeptical of every move they make. Just like you have every right to see nothing but positive. But don't expect it to change until this franchise consistently fields a competitive team without the constant circus atmosphere.

I do have the right to see everything as positive, or negative. I choose neither. It only seems that way to those on the extremes.

But if you read what I say, you will hear me give plenty of criticism to the Jets. I have frequently pointed out that the reporting structure is problematic. I have often cited Maccagnan's abysmal lack of resources used on the offensive line. With Gase, I have pointed to how he is not nearly as good at making in-game adjustments as he is at scripting plays over the course of the week.

Only people who are on the extreme in their anti-Jets viewpoint ignore those facts to portray me as always being positive.
