Trade - 11th & 79th to Cardinals for the 8th Overall

1st: Mehki Bechton, OT Louisville
2nd: K'Lavon Chaisson, EDGE LSU
3rd: Matt Hennessy, Center Temple
4th: Michael Pittman Jr., WR, USC
5th: Trey Adams, OT, Washington
6th: Isaiah Wright, WR Temple
6th: Chase Lucas, CB ASU

I could live with this mock, not only getting two tackles, center and edge guy sews up mandatory needs this draft... Acquiring Pittman and Wright gives us a plus in the receiver department that is already steadily improved just because of the return of our tight ends Herndon and Griffin.

I could live with it too, especially because it includes Bechton, Hennessy and Chaisson. I would maybe replace one of the WRs with another "O" lineman because I don't believe our receiver room, even if we lose Anderson, is as bad as our "O" line. I'm convinced that Smith can replace him so if we can pick up a real #1 receiver that should be enough. We need all The "O" linemen we can draft, beg, borrow, or steel to allow for rotation and injuries.

with this draft would sign Thuney to be LG and Scherff to be RG...

of course this also brings back Beachum on a one year deal, along with Harrison who is under contract and they could still sign a veteran to play RT... I would expect all three of those picks would end up starting by week 6 anyways... Opening the door to trade the veterans to a team(s) that suffer injuries...

Pittman reunites with Darnold might be something special, developing Vyncint Smith and Berrios while having another return specialist to use in Wright would help the pass game...

If your inside scoop says we are getting Thuney and Scherff I feel better already. Cannon can possibly be one of our return guys too when he gets healthy. I like the thought of Pittman and Sam having good chemistry if it turns out that way at the NFL level. Of the two WRs you listed he'd be the one I'd be most comfortable with.

Looks great, but I don't see Chaisson sliding to us in 2nd. I think he will light it up at combine. If not then grab best CB or edge there. My all offense mock, Adam and Sam would be happy Gregg Williams not so much.

I have long argued Becton would have a meteoric rise during and after the combine, and I think that has started to materialize. What did surprise me is Wilfs, and how athletic he has shown himself to be.

If I had to look at the four big OTs out there, I'd focus on three and their attributes:

Becton - an absolute freak of nature for someone to be as athletic as he is at his massive size
Wirfs - probably the most athletic of the big-name OTs, and the most likely to neutralize an NFL speed rusher
Thomas - might not have the eye-popping combine numbers the "draft experts" are looking for, but he's the best technical blocker in this draft by a pretty decent gap

he translate to guard, won't play left tackle bc his in game kick slide is short and choppy. playing right tackle he can handle some speed rushers but may get up twisted on those misdirection spins that some edge guys possess these days...

I'm not totally sold on starting him on the interior. He doesn't have the best pass set, but I would look at him at RT before shifting him inside. His feet are worth a look at RT.
