To me, this draft drastically undervalues Thomas. Drastically.
Thomas looks like an old school power impact blocker where today's game is athleticism and length(reach), seems why his stock is fluctuating so much...

I agree with with both you and Sack. He may not be the most athletically gifted LT prospect, but his technique, and competitive attitude will keep him around the league as a quality starter for a long time. BTW - since when is a 36" arm length a lack of reach, or a 5.22 40 for a 315 pound OT a lack of athleticism? His arms are longer than Becton, Wills, Jones and Wirfs. Way too much over-thinking IMO here with Thomas. Sign me up for Thomas at #11. Also, the combine measurements are found below:

HEIGHT - 6'5"
WEIGHT - 315
ARMS - 36+"
HANDS - 10.25"
40 yd - 5.22
BENCH - 21

Exactly. All the prognosticators are trying to out-cute themselves and be the guy who said "I told you so" instead of staying with common sense.

reach, is not all about arm, hands his combine he had choppy feet which experts are devaluing his stock not me... then again maybe Joe Douglas likes him a lot and Joe D's good friend McShay might be trying to throw bullets at Thomas' stock hoping it puts enough doubts for GM's to pass on A.T. and help him to fall from 6 to 11? I don't know...

To me, his stock in flux has everything to do with the increased importance of the combine. Understandably, teams judge players based on a variety of physical and mental attributes. But the one thing the combine doesn't have players do is play football. Thomas is from a technical standpoint an outstanding LT prospect, and should be treated as such, even if he's not putting up freakish numbers in Indy.

I don't dislike his feet the way a few have said. I haven't seen it in any footage I've seen.

I do, though, think McShay will at some point work for the Jets' FO.

we will have genius in the scouting department, then we only need a new owner...

A new owner may not spend the money on the team the way the Johnsons do. Or they may want much more say in the football operations.

The Johnsons are far from perfect, but it could be a lot worse for the Jets.

I would take Becton or Thomas over Jeudy if available at 11. Nothing against Jeudy. He's a quality receiver but there are a lot of quality receivers in this draft but only 2 top of the pile LTs. Wills and Wirfs are primarily RTs that might be able to switch sides and are projected by some even to be guards at the NFL level. I would still consider either one them over a receiver at that point as we are in need of a RT and guards as well. A lot of what happens at #11 depends on what happens in free agency so I think I'll hold back my choice for that #11 spot until we've had a crack at the free agency pool.
