I read an in depth article a while back - maybe on the website of "football focus" which in essence said - with much considerable supporting documentation that relative to Offensive Line prowess/success it is significantly better to have say 5 average or slightly better then average linemen THEN for example 2 all pros(or the likes) and then 2 below average etc. The article basically said an offensive line is only as good/ strong as its weakest link or links

That is probably true. I will say, I have coached on the defensive side of the ball and called defenses in addition to being OL coach, and we always made it a practice first drive to find the "weak sister" on the line. So there is a shred of truth to this.

Good pickup! I like that joe Douglas is address the oline. Something Mac neglected to do during his entire tenure. I just wish we would trade for Trent Williams.

these signings have a team friendly out after second year of the three year deals...

assuming these are all stop gap players to develop some prospects to become full time starters...

Fant is basically a 1 year deal...
McGovern has 2 years of guarantees...
Lewis also has 2 years of guarantees...

So we will have to patiently wait for JD's next move(s)...
