Jets sign Guard Greg Van Roten

Upgrade at G now, van Roten comes aboard, according to Schefter.
Definite upgrade. A couple years older than Winters, at 30, but most of the other line moves have been guys around 26, 27, so having one guy at 30 isn't a big deal. A little veteran presence is welcome.
He's a local kid. Long Island, I think. The one aspect is he doesn't have as much wear on the tires. He was a backup until 2018, when he broke into the starting lineup.

Three year deal, not sure of the money.
I'm better than Winters!! And since my business was closed down, I'm available.
That may even be true since Winters can't make it through the season without getting injured. To his credit though he did give his all when playing injured which is commendable.
I think it's a good signing. He was a starter for the Panthers which is a good sign. There were other teams after him as well so Joe isn't the only one who thinks he has some potential. We can find younger Guards later in the draft to groom to replace him when the time comes.
