Both the Chargers and Browns pick before the Jets and one of them could likely take the tackle from Louisville. There could be a chance that he falls through the cracks, would the Jets take this athletic beast if he makes it to 11? or are the Jets doing their due diligence to end up shopping that pick to another team eager to vault up and pony up more draft capitol, you decide...

If you really want athleticism, go Wirfs, I'd say. But with Wirfs, he's coming in without the real LT pedigree.

This is my list of Left Tackles I would be happy with in order:

  1. Andrew Thomas
  2. Austin Jackson
  3. Prince Tega Wanogho
  4. Matt Peart
  5. Charlie Heck

I agree about Jackson. He is drastically underrated in this draft. Heck and Peart would be good day 2 pickups. I have to admit, I have not keyed in much of Wanogho, so I can't speak as much to him.

  • Andrew Thomas Top 5 pick
  • Austin Jackson should be in the Top 25
  • Prince Tega Wanogho Top 5 2nd round pick
  • Matt Peart Mid Late 2nd Round pick
  • Charlie Heck Early 3rd Round pick
Prince Tega Wanogho Bio:
Tega Wanogho (pronounced TAY-ga wah-NO-go) grew up in Nigeria swimming and playing soccer and basketball. He earned a hoops scholarship to Edgewood Academy in Alabama, and once arriving there took up football just to get in shape -- now it appears he has a professional future in the sport. He played in 10 games as a reserve his redshirt freshman season, then started seven of 14 games played at left tackle in 2017. Wanogho started all 13 games in 2018 at left tackle. He was named a second-team All-SEC pick for his play in 12 starts at left tackle during his senior campaign. Received medical flag at Senior Bowl. Prince is, in fact, a prince in the real sense of the word, as his grandfather was the king of a village.

Draft Analysis:
A late-comer to the sport, Wanogho gained over 50 pounds and has gone through a crash course in football experience since stepping onto campus as a raw athlete with just a year of high school experience. His shorter arms will be an issue against long-limbed defenders, but instinctive, quick hands and an ability to swat and re-establish as a hand fighter should help counter that concern. The footwork and body control are just OK, but he's loose-hipped and tremendously athletic with rare recovery ability when beaten. He may never be a plus run blocker, but he should keep improving with additional work and experience. Wanogho's NFL play may be inconsistent, but his talent and ability to keep rushers off his quarterback is what matters most, and it should make him a long-time starter with development. Very late-comer to the sport, but possesses excellent athletic ability and improving skill-set to handle NFL pass protection on the left side. His issues are more technical and experience-based than physical.

I still believe if we don't get Andrew Thomas and they choose to trade down, if we wait to the 3rd round getting Charlie Heck will be fruitful for our team in short term and long term... My view think immediate impact as a swing tackle that when adding NFL strength can be the future for any team at left tackle because of his technical attribute in his run blocking ability and his athleticism...

I think those who are putting Thomas at the bottom of the Big Four are those who go based on numbers from the combine, and really don't know how to understand OL play. Thomas is the best blocker of the four. He's the best technical blocker in this draft.

I very much think Jackson can be a value pick if they trade down later in the first. I like Heck and Peart on day 2, if they go WR first round. But I'd try to get Thomas at 11, because there are better WRs later in the draft than there are OTs later in the draft.
