Was voted the best blocker in the SEC this year. Same Conference as Wills. I bring this up because some have regarded him as being the lowest rated of the 4 tackles. Especially in this situation with the possibility of shortened prep time before the season, he might be the most plug and play ready of the group, especially at left tackle.
Also, the same article, I think on ESPN, saw Jackson and Jones as being very good prospects, but not quite ready to play right away. Again, this is a significant point with training camp possibly being delayed or even shortened.
I’d be happy with any of the top 4, but want people to know that Thomas would not be a leftover if we draft him.

Those who view him as the lowest of the four tackles really don't understand OL play. They just look at the combine numbers. They couldn't tell you a good block from a poor one.

I have reservations on all the so called top tackles...

but Joe Douglas did have an in person visit with Andrew Thomas and Jedrick Wills, of the two Wills fits better to what Joe Douglas signed in free agency but like we all know he played on the right side (albeit blindside for Tua) but right is not left and that is the need right now...

Jets get lucky for one of these two to drop to 11 then it is in the bag...

Thomas more of a road grader left tackle who can do it all but along the athleticism is below average and his recovery talent is sub standard... But his technical prowess is bar none...

If we are going along athleticism Wills is the better long term option, and at this point would fill the right tackle spot that is currently owned by Chuma Edoga... Edoga possibly could move to the left side but what he did last season when he had the chance he was so so... Signing of Fant is a wing and a prayer move, but if he pans out then drafting Wills for the right side would be a smart move...

As for the future of the line, how long could Fant sustain if he pans out on the left side? 6, 7 years at best...
If they draft Wills, will they eventually try to move him to the left side or like Conklin keep him on the right side permanently?

Too many interesting questions but until Thursday we have to wait to start asking them...

I too would have preferred a bit more of a sure thing on the blindside. But the market was limited. The best tackle on the market got a huge deal, and he's strictly a RT. Aside from either trading for a potentially injured problem child over 30 (Williams) or signing a steady LT who is approaching 40 (Peters), the Jets had limited options in this market. Fant gives them some flexibility. But I would prefer going with a solid LT in the late first or second (Jackson) than take a RT project who might convert at 11.

Jackson, Jones, Prince seem to be a top option after Thomas and Becton (who is falling in stock) but all three of those guys are not day one starters, maybe Jackson has a shot but not with the current pandemic right now will delay his growth...

Like I always said a raw prospect that has the fundamentals in technique down and is a solid run blocker that can climb to the next level is a good ground level to work with and there are three to look out for:

Charlie Heck, UNC
Ben Bartch St. Johns
Cameron Clark, Charlotte (Jets are known to have face timed with him)

these guys have the technical aspect down, have athleticism and are good run blockers, good footwork and bend which with the right coaching scheme could become good all around left tackles in the league... All three are round 3 prospects...

I like all the guys you mentioned on that list. I think Heck and Bartch have more upside. UConn's Peart is a guy to consider who may not have as high a ceiling, but might be a safer pick. He likely won't develop into an elite LT, but he could be solid.
