Going to be interesting to see what Belichick devises for Cam. Surprised it took this long.
Got off way to easy, $1.1 million dollar fine and 3rd round pick. Should have been a first plus.
His career will definitely be resurrected and we all knew this was coming. Cam signing with the Pats was the inevitable. He’ll be the day one starter no doubt and probably play 7-10 more healthy years. Throw for 3500 plus yards, over 60% completion, 25 plus TDs and less then 15 ints each year. He run ALOT less now but that will still be a threat somewhat, and him not running will help him play 7-10 more healthy years. Obviously the Pats will now contend for the division and playoffs from this point on. I think I originally predicted 8-9 wins for the Pats this year. This was prior to Cam signing. Now that this has happened, add 2-3 more wins to it. DAMN!!!

But.......but.......surely Belichick can't win without Brady, at least that's what some here insisted. As long as Newton is prepared to go with the program the Patriots are now favoured to continue their consecutive AFC Easts. Just as well that the season is likely to be cancelled.
and if Cam plays ok this year and leaves next year, belichick gets the 3rd round pick back. much as I cant stand the guy I gotta admit, he sure knows how to manipulate just about anything into his favor
Well on the bright side the Jet's will be able to use the same defensive schemes against the Patriots and Bills. Both have big mobile QBs that use the threat of the run to aid the passing game. Of course you have to wonder just how mobile Cam will continue to be. Let's see, over 900 career carries, ankle ligament surgery, right shoulder surgery and he's coming off a lisfranc injury.

maybe they can paint a circle on the field where brady used to stand and mark it "stand here Cam" the turf is probably a little worn in that spot already. shouldn't be hard to find
No chance he plays 7-10 healthy years. He's a broken down player and he has been above 60% completions twice in his career.
SO GLAD you have such a negative view on him and I figured YOU would be the one to say something like this. We'll definitely have to agree to disagree on this one, as we do on most Jets subjects. Under Belibitch, Cam will shine and stay healthy for 7-10 more years because he will be playing a lot more from the pocket. He has had a full year to recover and he's only 31 years old. I see no reason why under a head coach and organization that won't allow him to run crazy like a wild bull, why he won't stay healthy and play well for 7-10 more years. It sickens me to think that they struck a gold mine here but I believe they have. Guess we'll just have to see!!!
This was probably in the works for them the entire time. That's most likely the reason they didn't draft a QB. They also most likely waited all this time because they wanted to see if he could come back fully healthy and the COVID-19 stopped all of that. I couldn't see the Pats deliberately tanking this year for Lawrence, or putting a team out there that they wanted to win 10 games but knew they only could win 5. That's just not how Belibitch and the Pats operates. So Cam was probably always the option. Even without Cam, Belibitch would have found away to win 8 games with whatever QB's they had. Now with Cam, I'll say they win 10 at least. Maybe even 11 or 12. THIS JUST SUCKS!

Maybe but Cam brings something to the table that Dalton and Rivers don't and that is he's a linebacker that can throw the damn ball very well. They won't totally take away the running option to make teams scared of the threat of it but they'll hardly use it to keep him healthy all year.
I wouldnt have minded seeing Rivers or Dalton winning a superbowl either. maybe belichick gives them each a ring over the next 3 years
