Scrimmage rumors NOT favorable

I've read several articles this AM about a scrimmage that just took place between our back-ups and our starters. Every reporter said the same thing............our back-ups on both offense and defense kicked the starters asses royally. That makes me feel just dandy...........:worried:

well you will keep feeling that way unless Gase finally admits he is not as sharp as he portrays he is...

I'm happy to blame some of it on Gase but apparently the defense sucked as well so a lot of it has to be the players themselves. It seems though that you read the same bad news reports that I did. I was hoping it was just my old eyes deceiving me.

It certainly could be part of it but you would think that playing hard at football would help them get some temporary relief from the mental side of that problem. I know that when I'm having problems getting robustly envolved in one of my many physical activities helps me take my mind off the problem short term and sometimes it even gives me some clarity about the situation. It's a difficult problem to resolve no matter how much we would all like it to be something long gone and behind us. The sad thing about this is that he was shot 7 times as I last heard and that is just plain pitiful. I know a lot of cops, even have a few in the family, and I honestly think some cops should never be issued or allowed to have a gun. Not just because of the piss poor marksmanship but also and primarily because of their mental capacity. And on the other side of the coin it's not always the cop that is at fault. Stop, put your hands up, does not mean stick your hand in your pocket and spin around quickly like you are pulling out a gun. Not saying that is what happened here and I'm not defending the cop. I wasn't there and don't know the true facts. Just saying there are two sides to every coin and that's what makes the problem so difficult to resolve. Both sides need to make changes for anything constructive to happen and that starts with eliminating racial discrimination. Bigots and racist don't change their stripes willingly.

My mistake. I didn't realize that scrimmages were where you do everything wrong. After all we do have a couple of weeks to fix everything before we are faced with a real opponent. ;) :)

I'm not saying it's not mildly concerning, but let's keep it in perspective. If it was preseason we wouldn't be worried too much. Same applies here. Let's wait until the lights go on and they've played a few games before pushing a panic button.

The good news is that Douglas appears to have gotten a bargain Perrine. Its also good that some of the draftees are showing promise like the aforementioned Perrine, Davis, Cager (UDFA), and of course Becton. Hopefully, Mims, Zuniga, Hall and Clark get to show something once back from injury/illness.
