It's the selective and hypocritical protesting that is so disgusting to me. How about all of the black lives wasted in inner city shootings? The numbers are staggering and yet crickets from the BLM crowd, media and athletes. How about the targeting of inner city blacks by planned parenthood? About 80% of all PP 'surgical' centers are within walking distance of inner city neighborhoods and a startling ratio of almost 2:1 black live births to black abortions. That ratio is almost 5x that of white women. There are reasons for that gap, but many of those reasons are what people should be protesting. Last but not least are athletes like Lebron James who has a billion$ deal with Nike that makes +80% of its shoes in Asia where the workers make about $1-$3 an hour for 60-70 hour weeks if not more. How about their oppression Lebron and ColinK? I'm just really tired of all of these spoiled brat athletes, anarchists, celebs and politicians who are so full of shit.

the Jets have sucked for 50 years. how about we protest that. it wont do any good.

I don't see where this protesting will do any good either. especialy with all the violent crap going on.

if someone doesnt like another race. first off that is ridiculous because there is no sane reason to dislike an entire other race, but if someone doesnt like another race, people protesting isnt going to change their mind. sadly, I don't know what would

personally, I like anyone who is nice , regardless of what color they are, and I dislike people who are trash no mater what race they belong to

for me, players sitting out practice and kneeling for the anthem, really makes no sense and kind of ticks me off. but hey, thats just me and other people feel differently so to each his own, but I really just don't get it and I really dont discriminate against anyone but brady and belichick

Grote may i second this post. Plus we were improving the lives of many poor people the last 3.5 years.....why protest when we are moving forward.

I'm very sorry for your losses Butterscotch. That's horrible and tragic. I can understand your frustration at the way things are going right now.
My only comment would be this - our society has many issues - I personally believe that standing up for social justice is a worthy cause. I don't believe that these athletes are complaining that life is unfair, or that their pain is worse than yours or anyone's. I hope we all come through this better as a society.
Thanks for your kind words much appreciated.

Protest like doctor King are good. Protest when burning buildings & killing people are not. If you support these people you are guilty too imo.

I have had the advantage of working with police for about 20 years. The good the bad & the ugly. Our family had the privilege of knowing the president years ago. He is not a racist, & he cares about all people. We were improving in the areas of what they were/are protesting. Imo this is not about what they say they are protesting for. This is hurting the country.

I'm not going to comment on politics or share my political views. I think we should keep this board limited to sports, and the impact of these issues on the sports world as fans. The second we go down the rabbit hole of choosing political sides or of advocating for one candidate over another, this could get very ugly. And that's not why we come here. We come here to talk about the Jets. There are plenty of other forums to debate politics.

With that being said - I will say that I know this for sure - this country needs to heal, physically and psychologically. I don't care what side of the political spectrum you sit on, the hardened divisiveness needs to stop. If we don't find a way as a society to communicate better and solve our problems, things will get much, much worse.

jet green totally understand. Just want to avoid any undue turmoil on the board. I wasn't responding to your post in particular, just more broadly.

My post was on how we were improving so why would the NFL & others protest now. (yes they have a right too) but why now? I did not bring up political views as such. I have a back ground with police. We have a background with this president my thoughts were that things were getting better so why protest now. Funny how people pick on the Trump part of my post but not on the police end. So who is turning this into politics. I have many friends on both sides if I say something about one of them this does not mean I do or don't support them or not......Don't reach too far. So if I say he is not a racist That is my opinion that does not say I support him or his party. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/ex-nfl-player-walker-says-trump-is-not-racist/vi-BB18lfKO I am not alone on this So keeping with the Jets since what i said was attacked on this. https://www.newsday.com/news/nation...ational-convention-1.48621922?ocid=uxbndlbing

So I am talking the protests using my background with police & The man in charge.

I will not support the NFL & its players now. I will wait for this to get better.

We must get better but the problem is what is better we are so split on this & just like the civil war this may get real ugly fast.

Bottom line is I don't feel the NFL should play this year......It may not be bad........but God Bless us if it is.

Why shouldn't we talk politics?? Sports includes politics. Thats why I don't give a shit if they play or not. If they want to protest and riot on their own time then they can. Sports are being ruined by politics.

Actions typically speak louder than words. Labeling someone a racist these days has lost its sting because it is thrown around way too liberally. Call him what you want, but his actions and the benefits of his policies to Black Americans during his presidency tell a different story. On the other hand, the only time Black America gets any attention from the one party is during the election season, and they are promptly forgotten not too long afterwards. They are the true panderers.
