I dont know if he could be the guy, but I'm pretty sure I know who isn't the guy
well I know this not only is he legendary receiver he has experience with running backs as he was one in college at UGA...
a quarterbacks friend is not only receivers and tight ends but a running game if he surrounded himself with knowledgeable people like a top flight offensive lineman to coach this shit show... a top flight QB coach then find a play caller to immerse himself as the leader this team desperately needs at the helm...
get a defensive coordinator or former player to develop key players on defense and find knowledgeable position coaches to bolster the potential...
it would be something, I think he has the tools to be that guy but is he flashy enough for the Johnsons to give him a chance...

Are you freaking serious - lets take a guy with no real coaching experience except as an intern and make him a HC. Lincoln Riley, Harbough, ....names like these should be on our short list - anything else is a massive fail.

plus neither of those guys have any links to Joe Douglas so unless you are stating we should fire Joe Douglas so we can make a run at one of those two that is preposterous...
it is thinking outside the box... the Jets could promote from within, and by the way Hines has experience in two positions, he doesn't need to be offense or defensive guy he needs to be a fucking leader, someone players respect...
hiring an offensive coordinator & defensive coordinator to run the each group is the smart move...

I'm with you 1,000 percent here. Anyone with a real coaching pedigree that has a brain in their heads is not coming here. Promoting Hines just might be onto something here. I like it a lot. Problem is, this will most likely never happen!
there is a chance, remember who hired Hines Ward >>> Joe Douglas to bring discipline and leadership to the receiver room and offense... long shot, yes but he doesn't have to be a "Brilliant Offensive Mind" he needs to be that leader that expects discipline, hard work and holds players and coaches alike accountable...
hiring the coordinators to work with the offense and defense is what will make this work...
technically Gregg Williams is likely gone after this season, but someone like Chip Vaughn could be his replacement...
for offense we don't have anyone in house but that could be easily rectified by hiring a college coach, not any big names...
I expect Brant Boyer isn't going anywhere unless a team is offering him a head coaching gig...
Personally I would want Brant Boyer to be our next head coach, while still running the special teams... thats just me...
