If the Jets end up moving on from Adam Gase at some point, don’t look for Lane Kiffin to be interested.

The Ole Miss coach doesn’t think much of the position.

On the Barstool Sports “Pardon My Take” podcast, he was asked how he would feel if he was the Jets coach after hypothetically leading Ole Miss to the national title.

“Oh, terrible,” Kiffin said. “You seen that roster?”

It is, indeed, not good. The Jets are 0-2 and have been outscored 58-30 so far by the Bills and 49ers.

The well-traveled and controversial Kiffin, who has previously coached at USC, Tennessee and Florida Atlantic, is beginning his first season at Ole Miss on Saturday against fifth-ranked Florida.

Interesting that an experienced coach thinks the roster is a factor instead of putting it all on Gase. Interesting too that the Jets job is being seen as a career-killer that should be avoided at all costs. We may be sticking with Gase until Joe has added sufficient quality to the roster that it is clear the HC is holding it back.

We let the only WR who Darnold was somewhat comfortable with walk in the offseason (and let's be real here, Anderson was a #3 WR at best), and we replaced him with even worse receivers

I'll hold out hope for Mims since he is an unknown, but how about a training staff that can keep anyone healthy???

If Becton lined up as an eligible receiver and caught the ball I'd like to see the defender who would tackle him.

We need skill guys, Edge, CB and OL (not necessarily with premium pick). Not going to be a one year rebuild. That's not to say however that a good coach could get better performance out of what he's got.
