really depends on our record. if we draft #1 then Trevor. if not, Sam is back
Sam Darnold will not only be our QB but his $25 Million 5th year option will be picked up. We pass on Lawrence and end up drafting a much lesser QB in 2023. 2024 we begin the next rebuild.....
it will have to be someone with a screw loose because you'd have to be brain dead to play for this team for any amount of money

The Jets have done absolutely nothing other than draft a LT for Sam Darnold. I'm not saying Darnold is playing well, but he has his 2nd HC who was a proven loser in Miami. I just don't think its fair to judge him in his 3rd year with no help. He might not be the guy, but it took Alex Smith the right HC to get it. I would kill for Sam to become Alex Smith.
Mahommes was given everything from day 1 plus learned from Alex Smith. Lamar was given the perfect offense and weapons. Allen was given a great coaching staff, defense and now weapons. Sam was screwed from day 1. None of those QB's would be any better with this trash. All would be ruined as well.
Get rid of the HC immediately and let Jim Bob run the offense and see what we can salvage out of Sam. I think coaching is the main reason for his regression or lack of growth.

Trevor Lawrence - lets face it Darnold even if he isnt damaged goods has no ability to show us he is worth the money to stick with him in year 4. How do you plan to rebuild this team with the salary he would command. Draft Trevor - start over and hope douglas and new coach get it right. Tradee Darnold to a NFC team.
I am a Darnold fan and want him to be our QB but as bad as Sam played yesterday, we might have to go with Lawrence. Yes I know he has absolutely nothing to work with but the true greats find away to make something happen with nothing. Not saying he should be taking this team to the playoffs or even a respectable 7-9 record but he’s gotta do better than this. Show us something Sam! Show us that if they gave him some true coaching, better weapons, a better oline, and a defense that we’ll be alright. I can’t quite say I see that in him right now. He is definitely regressing!

They took away his best WR in Robby. His second best weapon Crowder is hurt. Their top WR pick is hurt. Their top bust RB is hurt. His rookie of the year candidate LT is now hurt. He is on his 4th center. He is on his second HC who was a reject from Miami. I'm not sure how in the fuck people can judge him yet. No QB including Mahomes and Trevor Lawrence would succeed in that scenario. He is pressing to make plays. He is running for his life almost every play.
Now if Trevor is there and Darnold doesn't make strides the rest of the season you have to take the QB, but not if he doesn't fall in your lap. Can't trade any draft picks at all for a QB.

Because he still makes dumb plays (not throwing it away)and dumb throws(across his body / into coverage).
Things he should have learned by now, regardless of his surrounding cast.

I agree with you there, but again I think its that he is pressing and trying to make something happen. I will also concede he should never try to make things happen with this bunch of trash. They won't make one single play for him.

Trevor Lawrence is a junior. if Jets have #1 pick, he will return to school like Peyton. and Peyton did it when Parcells would have been his coach
