Sam my young friend the time to learn by watching is over. It's time to learn while PLAYING. Sorry but Sam isn't the guy. He is the BACKUP to the guy. Hopefully we get the #1 pick and the chance to ruin another young QB talent.

It would seem to me that the only way this organization will EVER get their franchise QB, is to draft or trade for a young QB that can deal with all the BULLSHIT and make something positive happen through all the non-coaching, non-skilled players and non-offensive lineman we have. Not to mention a defense that keeps getting worse and worse each year. We need a QB that will show us some signs of life even through all this adversity.

PRETTY MUCH A FREAKING SUPERMAN OR SOMETHING OF THE SORTS. EXAMPLE and correct me if I'm wrong here: When Brett Farve started his career with the Packers, they weren't hitting on to much but he showed them he was the guy and they build correctly from there. Same with Aaron Rodgers, Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning, Cam Newton and Deshawn Watson.

This is the kind of QB we need and Sam doesn't appear to be that. At times he TRULY DOES and at other times (majority of the time) he doesn't. I TRULY want Sam to be our guy but he has to be Superman to be that here and he doesn't appear to be that. Now if he was drafted by the Bills, Browns, Chiefs or Ravens, he would most likely be talked in the same light as those QBs but he's a Jet and this is just his fate for now. Maybe Trevor Lawrence can actually be that Superman that we need!!!

Just another Jets victim.

Let us not make the same mistake Portland did in 1984.
The trailblazers had a guard, Clyde Drexler.
So when their #2 pick in the ‘84 draft arrived, they passed on a guard because they had a good player in Drexler and picked, pretty much a bust, in Sam Bowie.
The guard they did not take?
Michael Jordan.
The rest, my friends, is history.

LOL, GREAT EXAMPLE but I think on the right team Darnold would be MUCH better than a Clyde Drexler. Drexler was a one-handed, one sided (only could truly penetrate to one side of the court) awkward basketball player that could play pretty good defense, he was fast and jump pretty high. I see Sam as being a better football player than that. Sam will probably get traded to the Bears this off-season and take them to 3-4 SBs over the next 10-15 years.

True on Drexler, i do think Sam would be much better on a more talented roster
I think Lawrence can take a less talented roster and make them much better. Much like Luck did for the Colts.
If the Jets do not end up with the #1 pick, my Hope is to trade back, hopefully someone loves fields and the Jets get a great package.
Joe D needs to hit on these picks coming the Jets way.
Get coaches in here with a scheme to enhance Darnolds abilities, surrounded by improved talent.
Jets will be primed to get some real FA in here
To really make a difference.
If the Jets do get #1, it’ll have to be Lawrence, get some picks for Sam. If Rosens can fetch a second, Sam should definitely get a first plus.
Joe D has shown, he can wheel and deal on trades.

Oh yeah and Gase is quite possibly the worst coach I have ever seen when it comes to developing young QB's. The Man is simply not the guy for the job. Its that simple. If He's a genius I'm Antonio Guterres.

agree on all accounts
Gase is / was a waste to bring here
Definitely need to draft Trevor ( best move the Jets could make since getting Joe Willie)
Trade Sam for whatever you could get ( I doubt a #1)
That will help bring in a real HC
If this happens I will be excited for this team again
It could possibly bring about an immediate turnaround
Cut out this bullshit ongoing rebuild
As of now it’s just a shitshow going nowhere
Ok maybe a shitshow going in the toilet

Bigmoe where are we going to Shanghaiing a good coach? Who would be dumb enough to work with the Johnson Brothers 🙄. Even with a great young qb. Lombardi would find away to turn it down & he is dead.

I say let Woody & Chris coach the team. Save the money we would pay a hc & lower beer prices. Woody could invite the queen to be on the sidelines during the games handing out free cake to all the fans on Dalton China. .

This post is a little confusing. You make it clear that they should draft Lawrence if they get the number 1 pick and if they don't, trade back for a great package and draft Fields. You made it clear that they should Darnold and get whatever they can for him. I can agree on all points but then you mention, "Get coaches in here with a scheme to enhance Darnolds abilities, surrounded by improved talent." What do you mean by that, if you want them to trade Darnold and get whatever they can for him? I agree with on drafting Lawrence or trading back if they don't get #1, to get the most they can and still draft Fields. I also agree on trading Darnold.

However; be careful what you wish for because Darnold will probably get traded to a team like the Bears and shine like the brightest light there is! Become a actually good to great winning QB, maybe even win them a Super Bowl or two. I believe Sam has the goods, he just here and is getting his ASS handed to him with this shit bag organization. No coaching AT ALL, NO OFFENSIVE SKILLED PLAYERS WORTH A DAMN AND A SUB PAR OLINE. DEFENSE ALSO IS SUB PAR. Joe D appears to be building the team correctly but it will be a few years (HOPEFULLY) before they are real contenders. Mehki looks like he has the goods and as long he can stay healthy, we have a staple at Tackle. He traded Adams and got a Kings ransom in that and hopefully he does good on it. Only problem is, all this is wait and see and we are all tired of waiting!

Sam has to have been Superman to make anything good happen with this team and that he is not! Sam has probably been destroyed as far this organization goes. So unless you can bring the coach of all coaches (whomever that may be) and the skilled player, oline etc-etc... by next year, then it might best to part ways so he can start fresh and new with the right organization for him and we can get the right QB, coaches and so on. Lawrence or Fields is going to have to be super strong mentally and emotionally, on top of mega talented and can make it happen whether they build around them correctly or keep this same ole bullshit going.

Well lets face it guys. We are in the same situation as Met Fans were with the Friggin' Wilpons. The only hope is if the Johnson Boys sell the team. Fat chance.
