Then I hope his dad, an "employee", has Trevor covered under his medical plan. Those operations can be expensive.

I think the poster was referring to Zach?
I realized that later, but I never let facts stand in the way of a good joke.

Can you name a bigger joke?

Yes. I remember Ed Chlebek. He probably has the record for yards lost on a pass attempt. He kept dropping back, dropping back, dropping back until he was tackled. It must have been over 30 yards. He never got rid of the ball. But I don't think they kept such records in those days.

Trevor Lawrence has a torn labrium.
Maybe Jacksonville won't notice its his non-throwing shoulder and pass on him

heading into the draft outside QB what are the main needs?

RB by committee or every down back?
WR we have Mims he is one, assume we sign a FA we need another slot type receiver
TE we hope Herndon will evolve into something but it may be time to find his replacement
RT Fant is a solid short term starter but we have no developmental prospect
OC McGovern like Fant is a good spot starter
RG Elflein is in his prime but he played left guard for us, can we find someone to groom?

EDGE been looking for years for a prime EDGE guy that can make a difference hunting QBs
MLB new system, will Mosley return? is it time to simply replace and move on?
OLB Jenkins, Bashma fit more of a 4-3 DE rather than 4-3 OLB we are stacked at 4-3 DE potential,
CB we have two starters, a potential nickel in Guidry, have depth but still should look for another talent
SS Maye likely to b re-signed and will resume FS duties, but who will be the starter SS next year?
DT like DE we are stacked with potential but we may need depth at NT

the pursuit of Watson could be the demise of a promising startto this regime

(If for no other reason I am glad ,yes the only reason) that Tampa Bay won. No matter how successful Brady has been, they ain't a dynasty! By the Chiefs losing, they broke their one game re-peat possibility. It seems up in the air again for the NFL league wide.
I love our front office and on field coaches. The owners? Different story. Let their silver spoons stay away from any influencing this team or we are back to the beginning.

I say backup QB then as the first one sucks

Ty Johnson looks like a change of pace back also can play a big role in passing game
La'Mical Perine has a physical nature to his game but has another gear to be a home run type
Knowing this, do we attempt to draft a Najee Harris or do we look for another comparable to Ty Johnson like Travis Etienne?

Travis Etienne brings a bit of both Ty Johnson speed along with Perine's power style
Etienne stock has dropped some with the emergence of Najee Harris who could go as high as 8th in the 1st round
Etienne was slated to be that end of the first round selection but now has fell into the beginning of the second round

UNC Williams has been slated to go from mid second to early third, but if Etienne is no longer on the board another option could be Miss. State Kylin Hill...
Hill is phenomenal with quickness, strength, and natural running ability. On top of making some huge catches, Hill did well as a blocker.

Lots of running backs do well in college. But the ability to catch passes AND block is what separates them at the next level.

consistency is key on the offensive line but talent and durability is a need so we know what Becton brings, we know McGovern is a short term answer that could prolong into a long term answer but the other three positions, no long term starters nor do we have developmental options except for Cameron Clark but right now he seems position-less...

Rashawn Slater from Northwestern is one of those jack knife players that can play right tackle kick inside to guard or even play center... I like Alex Leatherwood out of Alabama just because he played three seasons at right tackle blind side for Tua, last season he played left tackle and Bama won the whole thing so he played well... Bring him here, start him at right tackle gives insurance behind Becton... Also allows the team to keep a swing tackle on the roster who will prominently backup the right tackle, one less player needed for the offensive line depth chart...

Clark should get a shot at guard, which side who knows... Keep Alex Lewis, or re-sign Elflein or simply just draft someone or all three... Smart thing is to draft a center this year... Creed Humphrey, Landon Dickerson and Quinn Meinerz should all be on the list...

what to do at receiver is the main question?

Mims needs to learn how to land on his feet not his ass on those wild catches...
What will be the decision on Crowder, keep or trade?
Will they be able to sign a big time receiver?
Decisions, Breshad Perriman took a lot of time off this season with a good pay day but when he did play he was lights out...
Berrios can play offense, but is our fair catch guy that rarely fair catches...

Devonta Smith, Heisman award winner is the third rated receiver behind JaMarr Chase and his teammate Jaylen Waddle... Smith is a tiny receiver but he has filled out his frame of 6'1" 175... Can lineup inside or out and is an exceptional route runner, hands catcher and has elusive speed... Definitely will be drafted in the top 15...

If Crowder is no longer here, a player like Dazz Newsome could be the guy in round 3... Not as refined as D Smith but has the elusive speed for the slot...

Fourth round sleeper Nico Collins from Michigan could come in and earn starting role across from Mims and be productive...

This draft is deep with many options at receiver, just have to find the right one...

The kid from UF - Toney would be ideal piece for LaFleur's offense, but may require a mid 1st round selection. I don't think JD will spend 1st round picks on WR.

Nico Collins from Michigan 21 years old would be perfect in the 4th round and Collins is a big-play threat vertically down the field that pairs very good vertical speed with excellent ball skills... To tandem him up with Denzel Mims oh my lawd... Even if Mims & Collins split time if we sign a big time free agent, we would always have the best group of players on the field at all time...

Chris Herndon has the potential but for what ever reason he is holding himself back unless it was the Puppet Master HC we just fired...
Ryan Griffin on the field he could be useful, but haven't seen him on the field often enough, consider him expendable...
Daniel Brown, a true receiving tight end with speed, spent the last two years on special teams...
Trevon Wesco a blocking tight end, that can run the ball and can catch as well in the new offense could convert to fullback...

Pitts is out of reach for us and not worth us spending a high pick on...
Pat Freiermuth from Penn State can be that caliber of a receiver thanks to his blend of size, hands, route running, & physicality in the secondary... He is a quality asset in the run game and could be a target with that Seattle pick... In the passing league need a security blanket tight end that will catch all the passes especially the easy ones that Chris Herndon dropped last year...
