Well, Justin Houstin is asking for $16 mill and WRs Cobb a Torrey Smith are asking $10-12 per, so I expect Wilkerson to get 12-14.

I think I read that Cobb will end up around $9-10 million. We have the cap space for Mo so I want this deal to get done regardless of the price.

Me too. Sheldon is also watching these negotiations closely so I hope it's smooth.

...sounds like 12-14 to me...

Muhammad Wilkerson - DL - Jets
The Jets will meet with RE Muhammad Wilkerson's player rep at the Combine.
The linchpin of Gang Green's defensive line, Wilkerson is going into the final year of his rookie contract. One of the league's top 3-4 ends, Wilkerson will make $6.969 million in 2015. He'll be angling to blow by $10 million annually in long-term talks.

Maybe it's just me but I think Rex was just able to scratch Wilkersons' potential I have blind faith Bowles will.

me too. I think Mo might be a bit overrated. He's great, but something about him that I don't think he belongs in the elite category.

I think Mo is very good..and to be honest..he does it by himself...if th Jets could get a great pass rushing demon (Fowler/Ray/Gregory) to take some attention away from him, I think he would be even that much better....along with Richardson in mix would help Mo immensely...plus hes a good soldier...

If cobb wants that much just keep Harvin

Well, Torrey already turned down $7 and $8 mill per year contracts from his hometown team, so you know he wants $10ish.

Cobb is asking for $9 or 10 from Gb, reportedly as I think Elias pointed out, which likely means he gets even more if he goes someplace else. Makes Decker for $8.5 look like a steal. :)

I've been the person saying keep harvin the entire time.

He and Mo (and Harrison to a degree) create something that is rare in the NFL, interior pressures. They can be dominant at times and it would be nice to retain all three young DLinemen for a decade or so. And I would love to see the finished product if you will...adding a bona fide pass rusher.

I would make a case for then overpaying (if that's possible) for Justin Houston if he somehow became available. What I'm reading doesn't make it sound iron clad that he's staying there but I'd still be shocked if KC let him go. But maybe drafting our own as you mention is the best option.

I really hope this gets done, and that it's reasonable long-term to allow for full flexibility.

That's before Torrey kind of stunk up the joint this past season. As for Cobb, I'd be surprised if that figure went higher for someone who mostly plays the slot. I saw his agent is asking 9M.

As things fall in place, you may well be right about Harvin. Maybe we need to hold on to him. I'm not against this at all. Don't we have a late date to make that decision?

The Torrey Smith situation is as of today, Ravens cant get a deal with him right now because he wants more money. He went to College Park so he grew up about 20-30 minutes away from b-more, and he's still turning down $7-8 mill a year.

I wouldn't expect him to take less than Decker got last year.

Local guy Pierre Garcon got 5 years $42.5 mill, or over $7 mill per year for the Skins in 2012 (this is 2015)...Smith will get more than that...so the dream we sign him for $7-8 is misguided, IMO...and Garcon never had a 1000 yard season before signing with the skins.

We'll see. He turned down 5 years for 35M (7 per) last season. I'm not sure he's worth more than that...I definitely don't see 9-10 for him. If he had a stronger year, then yeah.
I see your comparables and maybe this market will dictate more for him as there's a lack of starter-caliber WR's in FA.

He could be a sleeper prospect. Can you see him in green and white?

Cobb is a nice player..even very good..but take Aaron Rogers away from him and he loses a little value...

There will be a good sized raise in the cap this year. It's very difficult to determine what the prices will be for players. The first few days of FA will set the new Bench Marks

I think a lot of Jets going after Wr in free agency will depend on what MCG and Bowles thought/thinks of Oswusu/Enemunwa/Shaq etc..and plus the ultimate decision that they do with Harvin.....they are in a good position with Harvin...his money is slotted already..so in early stages of FA if the Jets throw some hooks in the water of certain guys they can see if there is any bites, and if not they always know they have Harvin to keep at a set price already albeit with a 4th rd pick...I do not think there is any way they keep HArvin and sign a FA WR If they keep Harvin...they wud most likely draft a WR
