Draft analysers are now predicting that Fields isn't even the third QB taken, so it would raise some eyebrows if we took him at #2. The Jags aren't going to be fooled into dropping Lawrence. The other possibility is that Joe is letting Zach's stock rise so he has to give less makeweight in a trade for R Wilson or Watson, but we don't have the supporting cast to put around a known winner and it would be the opposite of resetting the QB salary clock.

Neither are viable trade targets. Wilson has a no trade clause and wont come to the Jets, he is staying in Seattle. Watson will be on the commissioners exempt list , if not suspended so a trade for him leaves the Jets without a starting QB. Darnolds trade cemented the Jets pick at 2. Its QB and not for sale. The Falcons #4 pick became the likely trade chip as a result.

I cannot imagine anyone but Douglas and the coaches he hired will be making these choices.

That said, the only people I would want less to make the Jets' draft choices than Woody and Chris Johnson are Jets fans.
