Soooo...I take it you're not a fan..
I don't wish anybody the amount of Jets losses I suffered through over the decades. Decades.
It's all in the reading.Jets Camp 1.jpg

I was pissed not taking Allen and then winning last year not to get T.L. that said I wanted Zach who has the biggest upside. 9ers took highest risk reward,Bears pick having to fix his passing arm motion he done as a kid will be tough.Pats got a solid QB to fit their style of play in a year. To me Jets GM got the Coach and QB right this time.

One question came to mind after the draft. Bucky Brooks (NFL Network) and Mel Kiper chose Justin Fields for the Jets, so...if he were that good, how did he slip to #11? Justin has a good skill set and may flourish with the Bears.

Bears have a 100 year tradition of winning...Jets have a 55 year tradition of losing......who had the better pick? Things do change...lets hope

I was simply pointing out that these "experts" know as little or as much as we do, except accountability doesn't count, but handsome paycheck are there. Mostly a crapshoot.

It sounds like, not saying your as old of a fart as I am, but it sounds like you've been watching football nearly as long as I have. That being said you have to know, but just haven't considered it, that you probably know as much about football and evaluating players as these so called experts writing these columns. Like I have often said, trust your own judgement, you have just as much of a chance of getting it right as they have. They are guessing just like we are, plain and simple.

I thought people older than me were old farts, wouldn't admit it to myself tho'.
I do remember when Harry Wismer, owner of the Titans said, "There are 40,000 people here today. 30,000 are dressed as empty seats.
Guess I'm a geezer.

Actually, it was a reporter for a New York newspaper who said it. And it was 14,000, and I was one of them. (Sounds like something Leonard Schecter would have said - he tended to be snarky) Sonny was a showman, and would never have insulted his product or said people weren't anxious to see it.

I used to love the Post sport writers. Leonard Schecter, Leonard Lewin, Milton Gross.
I remember when Larry Merchant wrote for the Post. He invested $25,000 in Joe Frazier to keep him in training (Cloverlay Productions). That turned into $250K.
