Young guy is doing good. Just cant do it alone. Havent seen him just stop and allow D to run by like Becton was doing. He knows he faced the best in NFL and can hold his own.
Yes it is, but its Becktons fault for being paid as a professional but not acting like one by letting himself gain weight that effected his play and was a major factor in his injury. Also allowing our QB to take a beating from his unprofessional attitude in off season. Very disappointed in Beckton who took a chance on drafting him so high when his weight and staying in shape was the knock to him going to fall in late 1st round or 2nd.To bad we can’t seem to see Becton on the field growing with this kid. SMDH!

Just my opinion, but I think thats a bit unfair. I doubt very much this year's injury was due to his weight.Yes it is, but its Becktons fault for being paid as a professional but not acting like one by letting himself gain weight that effected his play and was a major factor in his injury. I don't get that either. Everything I read is that he is pretty diligent in his offseason workouts. Can't think of his trainer's name but, the guy works at his craft and his body. Unless all of the articles are BS, he has a pretty mature attitude. Injury prone may be one thing, but the other stuff may be off base.on the weight, you're probably right.
on acting like a pro, @gastineau has a point.
IMO, if he is our long term solution at LT, then we might have to employ some counseling for him. he seems to lack maturity.
if he is Trent Williams/Jason Peter type then make that 2 decades lolnext decade

this blocking scheme is wide zone blocking scheme - horizontal left or right... that is why they drafted AVT he fits this scheme at LG...i just get a vibe that he feels lost, and a bit insecure...could be nothing, and i hope it is, because he is a very likeable guy with a massive upside.
he came into camp out of shape, yes but in the past two years he has trimmed down and stack muscle that is his dedication and the team's willingness to protect their players health and longevity...Beckton came into camp over weight and Jets tried to hush it. Of course weight is a big contributor to injuries. Added weight in sports on lower body is shock loading your knees ankles, and major strain to all leg muscles and pounding of legs bones, muscles, ligaments with added weight cause injuries. Ive had 7 knee surgeries and ankle . 3 microfractures along with torn ACLs. Body can take a pounding but with added flab weight, not muscle puts more strain on legs. I have to stay in shape for work and so should a young man Beckton who should be thankful playing in NFL being paid to workout to play an 1 hour game. So I do not shy away from criticizing his work ethic for doing his job and same for me and my fellow workers in dangerous jobs.
