Wilson does need to get a grasp of this offense and the NFL game in itself but the question is, should he do that sitting a watching or playing through his mistakes and learning that way? Sitting and watching doesn’t work for everyone. Some players need to play and get the experience on the field to learn that way. Obviously I don’t have the answers to these questions and don’t know which way is the right way. It just might all depend on the player. I would say play him and let him learn from his mistakes. He’ll be sitting for 2 to 3 more weeks anyway, so he should come back with a better grasp just in general. If he doesn’t, then I’ll say he needs to sit, watch and learn.

the input from LaFleur was the catalyst to draft Wilson lets not get that wrong...
LaFleur saw the deep ball accuracy and fell in love with it hoping he can make him a pocket guy with that rocket of an arm...

Hopefully when Zach returns in 2-3 weeks, he’ll have a much better understanding of the offense and play much better. He’ll be sitting, watching and learning, so let’s see if this works!
no need to rush him back, he should of sat from the start of season but LaFleur wanted to throw him out there to get those live reps but in the heat of the battle players revert to what they are accustom too...
if LaFleur and Saleh want to continue with this offensive explosion they will ride with Mike White and make sure Wilson heals up fully and becomes the backup with Joe Flacco the third string, technically the backup because Mike White is basically a younger Joe Flacco -- big strong pocket QB that has maneuverability inside the pocket able to zip passes accurately short to medium routes... Capable of deep throws but not as accurate...
my only fear with Wilson is he likes to play hero ball, like he did in HS and BYU. We will see if he has enough discipline to play within the scheme, like White did today. It was pretty evident today that the scheme can work. The short passing game opened up the run and screen games, which were effective today. I dare say the if White can light up the Colts on Thursday….. we may have a tough decision to make
So have the Jets created a QB controversy? It looks like Johnson gets shafted, despite looking OK in his brief appearance where he should have had a TD. But if White beats the Dolts next week, are we seriously going to pull him for Sack? And if we do that, who goes to the practice squad? It would be ridiculous to send Flacco after spending a sixth on him, but if we send White he will be picked up by another franchise in five minutes.
with Zach he moves the pocket which takes away that short pass game (doesn't matter because he can not throw short ones) at the same time also takes away those off tackle runs because the defense is already playing wide to contain Zach...
With Mike in today the defense was trying to shoot up the middle to collapse the pocket but when we gave it to RBs they were able to run outside more effectively today then normal...

Lol, hopefully not! He’s a smart kid and should get a better grasp over these few weeks. I’m guessing he’ll play much better in his return. Doesn’t mean we’ll win but he’ll play better.
I’m agreeing with you only because of the scheme may fit Mike better or Zach just hasn’t settled enough and learned what he should. At the end of the day it’s all about winning and they did win today. So if they win next week, that has to raise an eye brow. On talent alone it’s no comparison. Zach has much more talent than Mike or Sam. He just doesn’t have a grasp of the game yet.
I wouldn’t say that they have just yet but if they win next week with Mike being a big reason, then we do have an issue. Talent and potential wise, Zach is leaps and bounds ahead of Mike but Mike has the experience and he made it happen today. In a commanding type of level. We can’t deny that!
He has a lot more talent as a rollout backyard QB, but he can't even throw a fucking screen pass or read a defense from the pocket. He pulled a Sanchez and hit his OL in the head. Wilson has made a handful of WOW throws. White had a WOW game. I hope Zach gets better because we need return for picking him at #2. Whether thats in a trade or he becomes great. I don't care, but he just can't be trash.
