I’m agreeing with you only because of the scheme may fit Mike better or Zach just hasn’t settled enough and learned what he should. At the end of the day it’s all about winning and they did win today. So if they win next week, that has to raise an eye brow. On talent alone it’s no comparison. Zach has much more talent than Mike or Sam. He just doesn’t have a grasp of the game yet.

and he can't complete a short pass

and that is a problem

a big problem if you ask me

Of course he can. I think ZW gave a good explanation of the issues that he's had with the short passes, namely that he has been aiming and guiding them rather than just letting it rip the way he has his whole life. He'll be fine.

Disagree . Opie Wilson needs the reps and the opportunity to prove that he’s not Hackenberg the sequel.
no White did run and execute the game plan correctly...
Wilson is better on the move, and reason he moves the pocket... He does well when standing tall, but he often improvises which gets him into trouble...

White sat 3 years. Wilson should sit 3 years.
Lol, you can’t be serious! This isn’t 1980 or 1990 even. High drafted players don’t sit that long anymore, you know that! This regime won’t get three years if they sit Zach for three years and please don’t tell me you think Mike White is the answer? If he was, he would have revealed this within himself long before this.

I believe Mike and the Jets offense caught the Bengals off guard and that’s why they beat them. From the start of the game the Bengals assumed the Jets were going to run because he was a back up and they focused on that. The Jets caught them off guard with like 12 passes in the first 15 plays, all scripted. Mike White said that in his post game press conference. Lafleur figured the Bengals would key on the run because Mike was a back up.

Now I’d say if the Jets beat the Colts this week and whomever else they play the week after. Or if they lose but play very competitive then we may really have something to think about here. At most, maybe they should sit Zach the rest of the year and let him watch and learn. Other than that, there’s no way Zach sits for three years. Only reason Aaron Rodgers sat for three years is because he was sitting behind a proven first ballot HOFer. Mike White is not that!

I’m guessing that the defenses have film to look at on White and they can better prepare for what he’ll bring to the table. This will most likely show itself this Thursday against the Colts. Mike is a very good back up QB but I’m not quite sure he has what it takes to be a full time starter. If he did, I would think it wouldn’t of taken three years to find this out.

White was poised and accurate, and seemed to really see the field well and go through his progressions. Even the two INTs were ricochets off the intended receivers We'll see how he does in the upcoming games but I disagree with the idea that "If he did [have what it takes to be a starter] , I would think it wouldn’t of taken three years to find this out." Robert Saleh is very fond of saying that often the difference between backups and starters in the league is opportunity. I still think that Zach Wilson is going to become a great QB, but we shouldn't dismiss Mike White out-of-hand because he hasn't previously had an opportunity like this.

Well, I’d like to say this and of course I could be wrong that players make their own opportunities. Mike White was drafted by the Cowboys if I’m correct and cut somewhere along the line. He was then picked up by the Jets, if he didn’t play for another team before us and he was on and off our practice squad for about two years with us. I would think, especially with our team with all the quarterback headaches over the pass years that Mike White would’ve created his own opportunity by now. We’ll see what happens from here!

He had his Matt Robinson moment.
And in true FOX fashion, they named the Rams quarterback their player of the week. Of course they picked an NFC player.

Man, I would love a QB controversy! The Jets with two good QBs at the same time?
I would be in heaven!

if Mike White has another big game this Thursday Joe Douglas is going to have to re-sign him and he will get or qualify for a big raise currently playing on $850 K contract...

a plentiful contract based on incentives especially on production in playing time might actually keep him here long term...
not to mention an incentive or modification if he becomes the starting QB...

How good can Zach's completion rate be rolling to his right? He needs the fluidity White showed yesterday to keep defenses honest and moving the chains.
Pocket passing is the answer.
I guess I'm guilty of "White Supremacy" in this case only.

He doesn't need to sit 3 years because of talent. Wilson needs to sit because he doesn't know how to be a leader and thats not something he will learn on the fly. He needs to see others do it to learn it. He tried to fool them with his WOW throws. Players are smarter than this. They had a different enthusiasm for White yesterday. White is definitely limited and he didn't play for 3 years for many reasons, but if he is winning and keeping the team competitive then he should play. Everyone seems to forget Zach almost got benched in college because of his turnovers so I see a pattern here. Its ok to go off script, but Zach is not good enough of an athlete or big enough to do it often. He was in college because he never played against an NFL quality player so his weaknesses are being exposed now.

I didn't watch the entire game yesterday, but I did listen to the second half and I could hear the excitement for this team that wasn't there since Fitz. It could be one game only, but as a disgruntled fan its was exciting. I watched week one and the Falcons game and never was excited watching Wilson. I'm tired of rooting for draft position. We can do that with hoping the Panthers or Seattle lose which in typical Jets fashion they both won yesterday.

Huh? So Jets OC finally copies Pats playbook that makes Patriots Rookie QB look great and now Jets QB and Wilson is blamed? Come on guys. Jets OC after being crushed by media finally got smart copying Pats Offense against Bengals and won! Im happy Jets beat Bengals and Titans, but the big difference is play call yesterday copying Patriots Offense. I hope Jets continue to copy this Pats Offense when Zach gets back and stop treating Zach like a 10 year Vet QB. Im happy for White who also knows the OC copied Pats and it helped him just like helped Pats Rookie QB. Pats plays shows how good it makes a Rookie QB look and worked for Jets. But Zach is the guy and starting crap falls right into medias hand of build up Jets fans and rip us apart. Colts are for real but a QB still in question. Can Jets with new Patriots Offense work there? Maybe. But they might take away that short stuff and force Jets back to long pass and running game that Zachs been using.

I may have missed it, but do we have splits on ZW's performance in the pocket and out? One thing also to consider is that the OL is playing much better in the last three games than earlier in the season.

My fear with Wilson is he reminds me of Wentz. He needs to sit and learn to take what the defense gives you. Wentz has never learned that.
