does this hire show the team's commitment to Zach Wilson or need for the position coach after Knapp passing...
I think after last game they need someone on the sideline because O.C. Mike LaFleur during games will be up in the booth...

Two things:
- I guess Cavanaugh wasn't helping; and
- LaFleur was on the sideline only because they thought it would helpful to the rookie (Saleh said as much in his postgame presser).
Matt Cavanaugh listed as an offensive assistant nothing directly as a QB coach that job now filled by John Beck who is and was personal QB coach of Zach Wilson... Bias maybe but in the end he did work with Zach closely and maybe this is a sign that the coaches felt Zach was not buying in to what the game plan was, now they brought someone he trusts -- long term answer but right now it is Mike White time...
I was under the impression that Cavanaugh replaced Knapp as the QB whisperer for Wilson.
that was the preserved notion but was not the case they needed someone to work with the position coaches like relay from Mike LaFleur...
they knew Zach had Beck so in their eyes he had a QB whisperer he can rely on but now they realize they needed to fill that position on this roster so Mike White can have that guy as well...
Well he didn't make Wilson good so not sure how good this hire is.

Ultimately, I think the front office still very much believes in Zach, as shown by this move. But it's also not going to turn away from what might be lightning in a bottle. They will give White every chance to prove or disprove his first start was no aberration.
lets see what happens going forward. we don't have near the team here that belichick had back then, but yes, it would be hilarious, great if White, thanks to belichick, became the next guy to stand in one spot for 25 years and throw to wide open receivers. Maybe even buy a yacht and play toss the trophy off the back of it.
but let's see how many games White can play like he did last week. hopefully 25 years worth but, let's see
