Personally I prefer the center from Arkansas and the OT from northern Iowa
I like Stromberg too but also think Lindstrom from BC fits... All else fails can draft Cade Mays from Tennessee he plays guard right now but has a lot of experience playing center as he did with Georgia before transferring...
Trevor Penning is the best tackle coming out from a school that breeds them he won't last long...
If we trade down and big if, we may miss on some prospects but we strike we can get two of the top best first round options fill two needs immediately... I still like Darian Kinnard from Kentucky but like I said this draft is deep with rich talent across the line...

I was only playing Devil's Advocate, bc i believe in best player over scheme...in large part.
but we track together...RT, RG, and C can be had later and they can be starters for a decade.

Jordan Davis is a monster, but Perrion in the 2nd is no slouch.
I am up in the air on Foley...I love him, but more often than not he doesn't collapse pockets; same for Shep.
you realize both are run defenders?
Q. Rankins and JFM are pass rushers...

play calling didn't help either...

I don't think ML knows how to deploy him, yet when we had Adams running it for big gains he was okay with that... Just amazing the coaching staff and their ideals for the offense when there are other players wasting away when their skill sets could be the spark we need from time to time...

you took the words right outta my mouth.

That never works and screws up your cap . It also guarantees that you will be overhauling your roster when the coach inevitably gets fired .
You hire a coach because of what he presented to you in his interview. Give him what he needs to institute his vision and augment it yearly to allow for eventually losses due to free agency, injuries and potential bust because they happen .

yes, but i also know that you also realize that we substitute our varsity for our jv players a lot...so our stuffers have to become collapsers too,
and our collapsers have to be stuffers.

Imagine just for a moment JFM next to Baby Q flanked by a fully recovered Lawson on passing downs with those two kiddies at linebacker roaming.
Before we can get to that we have to stop teams from trampling us to death up the center of our defense with all these 3T players all along our defensive line . As for Foli, I just don’t think he’s consistent enough and our rotation system sucks .

"RT, RG, and C can be had later and they can be starters for a decade".... there are positions that have great players in non-cap busting draft slots.

those 3, i would forgo Lincebaum, Neal, and Green for Stromsberg/Jarrett Patterson- C, Penning- RT, and Thayer Munford at RG.
all second or thirds.

my point was if (Ex.) Lindstrom was available at C and the best for the system, but Stroms graded overall better, "and" they were both for the taking, i am going Stroms bc he translates better across all schemes.

The problem is it’s not working and this DC wants to wait until the off season to try and fix it.

you do know that one of the tackles for loss on 3rd down Foley assisted on... It was a shared tackle between him and Q.

collapsing the pocket and sustaining gap control are both needed...

so he was credited for a tackle for a loss and assisted tackle for a loss I think with the snaps he is getting and is still producing week to week he is not only doing his job but he is anchoring the d line when inserted against the run...

his run defense is 78.6 for the season would say that is pretty good... now he is only playing roughly 52% snaps splitting with Sheldon Rankins and rookie J Marshall when active...

head coach has an idea of how to run a defense and Ulbrich is executing that plan to the head coaches idea...

It is a process... it will be worthy when we get there...

By the way if I can’t get Davis for the zero my fall back option is Ridgeway

What an awful response and laughable post.

■ Mike White was drafted in 2018 (4 years ago) and is 26 years old.

■ Zach Wilson is a rookie drafted in 2021 (this year) and is only 22 years old.

And if asking for upgrades @ RT/C/TE/WR is a slight against Zach Wilson? Well, then...

You sound CLUELESS

Hey you’ve already been banned from another board for being a douche so instead of calling people clueless maybe you should just disagree. Also I remember your tirade when Wilson hadn’t signed. Talk about sounding clueless.

Some strings are much better than others, and this is a good one. After filtering out some of the snarky stuff, I feel as though I really learned something. That’s why I find this forum so valuable.

I am normally with you, but:

1.) Darnold played pretty well as a rookie all things considered.
2.) When Darnold came back in year two, won 6 games coming down the stretch.
3.) IMO, the lack of the year three jump was defenses getting a year of film of Gase's High School Offense being run under Darnold.
I hear you and I guess I’ll ride this wave by myself on this one, Lol!

these guys turned out pretty well. i bet there are those who are happy they waited, and gave them a team to play with, right?
Wow, both their career stats are pretty pedestrian compared to todays guys but their first ballot HOFers? Wow, the QB stats of yesterday just weren’t the same as I thought they were. Lol!

Maybe patience does pay off and guys like Zach Wilson, Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagoliova etc.etc have a chance!

I’m pretty sure none of those 3 are making the HOF. None of them are good at the moment, but Wilson has the best arm of the 3. See I can say something positive about Wilson. He has a hell of an arm and can make some really “wow” type throws. I just don’t know if he can figure out the rest of the nuances of playing QB. I really hope you are right and I’m wrong. And I hate being wrong, but this time I would welcome it.

I will say this Zach has an effortless throwing power but his accuracy is iffy... on deep balls he is better than sixty percent but it is up to the receiver being on the same page as him...

IF and I mean IF he works on his short game to become at least a forty percent short game improvement it would give him a start on developing into something serviceable... BUT it starts with the short game... I don't care for hero ball, I don't care for him moving the pocket...

Yes I know he is an improviser but if he can not stay in the pocket and cycle through progressions his career will be short here...

Improve the flat routes, the crossing routes and screen passes to receiver in motion and running back out of the backfield... like I said if he can hit 4 of 10 on a consistent basis, fans including me would see that as progress... 4 of those 10 attempts could go as minimal of negative twenty yards all the way up to and exceeding thirty five yards...

not asking to him being perfect, no one is perfect but drawing the defense in on those short passes will open things up for him to take advantage with his deeper accuracy as well then opening up off tackle runs for Ty, Tevin and whomever is the third runner...
