MLF was a college QB and safety. Agree we needed a veteran QB, especially after Knapp passed. Have said many times fans severely underestimate the impact of losing Knapp.
Will they let me kick without a helmet if I sign a waiver? I played semi pro rugby 25 years ago which is actually where I was seen by a scout for the Houston Oilers before they moved to Tennessee. I would have never torn my groin playing coed soccer if I was playing football. Kicking a rugby ball is way easier than a football. I doubt I could take kickoffs at this point, but kicking FG’s takes way less power. I played goalkeeper my whole soccer career so I took goal kicks for 15+ years so the transition would have been easy. I’m still incredibly accurate with a soccer ball.

he did not play in the NFL Cavaunaugh did but not LaFleur there is a big difference

Cavanaugh and Wilson do not communicate with each other after Cavanaugh snapped at Zach reason they brought in Beck...
You stated Lafleur never played the game... I pointed out that he in fact did play the game and position.
You rebutted that Cavaunaugh played in the NFL while Lafleur never did and that is a big difference.
I asked if Cavaunaugh was still on the staff. I didn't know if he had left and was assuming he must have due to your statement.
So how big is it that Cavaunaugh played in the NFL if he has no communication with Zack ? But we both know that's completely untrue. In fact just last week after the Texans game, Zack said he was able to communicate with" Rob " Calabrese during the game since " Matt" Cavaunaugh was out with cobid.

Cavanaugh was suppose to be the sideline QB whisperer for LaFleur so why did they hire Beck, Wilson's personal QB coach?
Calabrese is suppose to be the QB coach as listed on the Jets official site yet he one game with Cavanaugh out was the guy, but on film it sure looked like Beck was in Zach's ear all game...
every single possession except the last. and if not for the back up center botching the snap, probably would scored on every possession.

Beck was hired to help Zack focus. After he went to visit him while he was out injured , Saleh suggested hiring Beck for the rest of the season.
Directly from Zack prior to Eagles game which Cavaunaugh was back and on the sidelines for:
Wilson explained that Beck’s in-game assistance relates to his “mindset” and focus when it comes to being decisive or different coaching points, while Cavanaugh and Calabrese discuss the game script and situational football.
“There’s definitely a difference between both of [them] and I think they are both very needed and I appreciate them both,” he stated.
The team is all in on Zack and doing everything they can to help him succeed. The rest is on him.
Saleh said Beck was brought in to work with the Jets’ young quarterback core led by Wilson. Beck will be with the team through the end of the season, Saleh said. Beck was hired to keep from Zach running to Beck because he was having a problem with the verbiage. If your so called franchise QB is going outside the building to get help, then to protect the playbook from reaching other teams for a price, then bring in the guy that has your Quarterback's ear. Smart Move?
Same time, now the QB's room is crowded with too many voices between 4 coaches and 4 quarterbacks... Originally was going to be Greg Knapp and Rob Calabrese with Mike LaFleur... Knapp had Wilson's ear and they grew that relationship during the off season... Now I think for the sake of the team they had to play it smart and bring the baby's bottle to him until he understands the verbiage and doesn't need that crutch anymore, but I think and you think that Beck might end up getting a bigger role on offense moving forward, replacing the need for Rob Calabrese and Matt Cavanaugh, just saying...
