The other rookie was progressing nicely also before he got hurt . The big problem in the secondary is at the safety position where we have no talent at all and in the linebackers.
you can trace the issues on this defense to subpar play at NT, MLB and SS . The core of the defense is absolute garbage.

now that Quincy Williams has taken over at MLB for Jarrad Davis the tackling has improved but there is a disconnect from linebacker to defensive line... CJ Mosley is trying but it seems his skill set doesn't mesh in this defense, good run defender but lacks the coverage skills to shut down tight ends in the middle of the field...
as for safety, Ashtyn Davis is playing well and now that Elijah Riley has been given the other role they should continue to improve...
the corners and safeties are young and need time to develop while learning how to play this style of defense...
Davis is tied with Quincy Williams with the most forced fumbles on defense... They have to learn how to play as a unit not individuals. Play calling could be better, and situational design more than simply running cover 3...
those same tight ends that were suppose to be covered by CJ Mosley?
Davis was obviously one of JD bad picks, but Hall seems like a cornerstone and a steal.
I disagree. I think Davis will stick around. Super athletic
he is constantly reacting...not diagnosing. he always seems lost. But i hope other teams see what you have, and had him graded high on their draft board. I would love to get a 4th for him, and pick up Verone McKinley (OR) to replace him.
Roger That..."Let's Go, Brandon" Eccholls was a big surprise. I hope he can return, and get back to form so he can continue to develop, and possibly show that he really can lock down the other corner spot as a mainstay!
at that point, we have both outside CB's and a quality slot on the cheap!!!
I think Davis has a chance to shine in Saleh's defense - given more time on the field and classroom. Tackling needs to improve most. He's getting there but not finishing and has tendency to overplay at times but there is a lot to work with

Brandin Echols has been designated to return to practice
where does he project in next couple seasons - 3rd/4th guy? Would love to see a guy brought in via draft or FA that is as good or better than Hall....then let the kids fight it out for depth.
Outside cornerback with thin build, good length and solid ball skills to make effective challenges on the football when he's in position. Needs to put on muscle mass and get stronger. Echols has some holes in his coverage but he's an aggressive ball-challenger with elite athletic traits who can develop into a shutdown corner with proper coaching.
His ceiling is a Number 2, but his shelf is 5th rotational dime corner.
strange to think that we can go into next year with everyone not named Hall & Carter on the team in the D Backfield, and nothing would be disconcerting about that.

they didn't miss our doctors weren't willing to clear his medical and we have one of the top medical crews in the league...
trust me I lobbied for him, but was told they were worried his ceiling could only be 5 years in the league, didn't want to chance it...
Joe Douglas has a chance to rectify that decision by taking a clone of his 14th overall pick in this draft...
Left Tackle Ikem Ekwonu is considered at this level a guard and literally his tape suggests he would excel on the interior... They also had the interest of Cameron Clark to compete for the job so wasn't a hard decision but shit backfires and we lose out on potential...
we add Ikem and our OL gets a real kick in ass boost where they can become a Top 5 with a nastiness in the run game...
We didn’t. We drafted AVT in the 1st and we needed corners and linebackers who could run . You can’t fill every hole in one draft .
