look at it like this our defense is suffering do to the lack of F.I.T. talent and even so both JFM & Q both have the potential of hitting double digit sacks in this defense this year... add in return of Huff this week, will open more rushes towards the QB...
the defense will get better, everything will be better have to hope otherwise why am I not a Giants fan oh yea thats right they suck too we have a future they don't

I think when Saleh says, "the path is crystal clear" he is meaning that he has a script to winning, and that players have to follow the script. The script will not change to accommodate those who can't read it. The players will change to those who can execute the script...see GVR. see Mims.

I bet there is enough talent on our roster to put a band aid on "X", because we might be lacking talent in that area, but that changes the script. it could result in a win or two more, but that puts the script in flux to get a victory in the short term, but takes us off the crystal clear path for the long term formula to be consistent winners.

at the beginning of the year, i thought that the wins would be right where they are, and that if we became the playoff outsiders nobody wanted to play, that would be progress. Now, i think success for this year is finding players who fit the script, and who can execute the script to a very small core of guys that were already here.

Michael Carter with Ty and a Draft pick solid rushing attack
Elijah Moore and a top draft pick along with Berrios and what's his name wishing he was a number 1 receiver
a true weapon at tight end, one that can catch and block
a formidable addition to the OL at RG
find 2 actual linebackers that can thump against the run but can cover tight ends
find a solid role player to play next to Q to accentuate his game while elevating the d line presence
find a solid true safety that can cover and thump the run

do this during the draft and fill those needs this TEAM will win, the concept is there we just have to hope that our skill players improve Zach's game, potential is there...

Love this formula.

Role player next to Q has me intrigued because i am warming up to your idea of putting JFM in the middle with Q. Lawson at one side and then the Role Player on Q's outside shoulder at DE? maybe a Sam Williams?

at LB...is Quincy auditioning for a prominent role at one OLB spot with adding CJ's heir apparent and another coast to coast linebacker at the other OLB?

I would at this point, not saying this is the final result but in a Jets only mock:

would trade the 4th overall pick to anyone in the low 20s even in the division
so in this mock I trade the 4th Overall to Miami Dolphins and fleece them

receive the 22nd, 41st, 115th & 117th this year along with a 2nd and 3rd next year

another trade would be 145th to Dallas for 167, 174th and 2023 7th

Mock Jets Draft:
7th: Ikem Ekwonu, OG NC State
22nd: Jahan Dotson, WR Penn State
36th: Christian Harris: LB Alabama
39th: Trey McBride, TE Colorado State
41st: Lewis Cine, SAF Georgia
68th: Perrion Winfrey, DL Oklahoma
109th: Damone Clark, LB LSU
111th: Chad Muma, LB Wyoming
115th: Jerrion Ealy, RB Ole Miss
117th: Ricky Stromber, C Arkansas
156th: Jahleel Billingsley, TE Alabama
167th: Emeka Emezie, WR NC State (literally the same type of player Quincy Enunwa was)
174th: Neil Farrell Jr., DT Louisiana State

have an OL that features a dominate IOL
have two dynamic receivers, a physical presence and Corey Davis with Braxton Berrios
get not one, not two but three new linebackers to replace Blake Cashman, Jarrad Davis and if need be able to move on from CJ Mosley
get that true number one vertical/possession all around tight end then get a vertical raw one later on
get that one cut physical receiving back
get that developmental center to eventually take over at center but an immediate insurance on the IOL
get that compliment to Quinnen, get that replacement role player for Nathan Sheperd

I would give this mock B+ with potential

The injured Sherwood is going to be the Will linebacker as long as he’s healthy no matter what we think . I think the elder Williams brother should take over the middle if Mosley moves on . That leaves the sam linebacker where we need someone who can manage the TEs at the LOS and in coverage . Right now Williams is auditioning for that job but I think he would be better off in the middle roaming sideline to sideline .
what this defense really need is a zero to clog up the middle and ends who can set the edge . I happen to think that we have those edge players on the roster already but could use some depth . If it were up to me I would move Nass back to SS and team him up with the skinny kid FS Ashton Davis .
With our 1st pick I am willing to add the lineman for the OLas long as it’s not that RT from Bama .

Ummm Coach..........(A pause) While our guys are getting the experience so badly needed, I gather their opponents are also
gaining experience from their team's reps.

Moral: Keep up your optimism while hoping for a net gain over their opponents in the future. (Optimism in the NFL can go down faster than a snack in Rex's mouth).
